I agree that now they aren't so bad and its not a big pain to scroll past them. I don't get why such a stink was made if they were all gonna back down anyways I definitely don't think that people were out of line by complaining though. If even two of these spammers posted in a thread that only had say 5 or 6 posts it became incredibly annoying to scroll past each one of their posts.
