I mean really. There are a gazillion different types of hardcore, ranging from the chipmunky super-cheeze happy crap to the deathspeednoise variety to Jungle for fucksakes.

All I'm saying is:
(HC > HHC) . (HHC == HC) . (HC !== HHC)
Please repeatedly bang that logic into your head until you get it, so that Matéo isn't right about calling all Hardcore enthusiasts retarded.
no offence tim, but WHO FUCKING CARES WHAT THEY CALL IT?! IT'S STILL SHITTY ASS MUSIC!!!

What does the quality of music have anything to do with what people call it? To some people, it's not shitty. And some, whether the music is good or not, call it various names. Believe it or not...

Beat me to it.

And I would use the word "music" very lightly when referring to this genre :P

not even in the peak of my crystal meth addiction could i even keep up with that cluttered noise you call "music".

besides, i know alot people who still call all electronica "techno". i don't care, so why would someone give a shit weather or not they use the word "happy" in the title of an almost compleaty unknown (thank god) genre, regardless whether it is right or wrong?

you guys should be so lucky to have people that even know what happy hardcore is.

I love how everyone loves to pick on other genre's of music. Even when we're all here cuz of the same reason!

Who cares what other people like. We all like our own stuff right?

So you dont like House, Trance, Jungle, Breaks, Hardstyle, HappyHardcore, Breakcore, Funk, Electro, HipHop, whatever!

Then dont listen to it!

How hard is that to do?

I guess its harder then it is to say, obviously!

it's not about that matt.

it's about the fact that only 3% of the rave scene in van listens to that music.

so to be asking the other 97% to know and understand the difference between hardcore and happy hardcore is retarded and completly absured.

I think the only reason that 3% (as you say) ask you to understand is because all we/they ever hear are thread after thread, topic after topic, discussion after discussion about every other style.
Then when one comes up about something other wise, its picked on.
No, I dont think getting mad about it and yelling at people is the better way about it.
I dont agree with how this thread was started, but I dont agree with how similar threads are started either.
But I dont see the need to bash other styles of music simply because its not what you listen to!

Not everyone is going to be a walking dictionary for Electronica music.
So no. Asking everyone to understand every sub genre isnt going to happen.
But because one person doesnt get that, does that mean we have to bash the music?

But whatever happened to everyone agreeing that regardless of the sub genre, we all love electronic music!

Shouldnt that be enough?

i am not getting mad nor am i yelling. i am typing. i cannot raise my voice through a keyboard.

the reason i said that wasn't just to bash it, it was more of the reason that it is rediculous to expect people who do not care about music like that to understand the differences between sub genres, just because they are in the electronic music scene.that's like a proctologist going to a cardiac sergeon and saying "why do you not know what the inside of and asshole looks like? your a doctor!" to which the cardiac sergon would reply "because my area of specialty is the heart, not the asshole."

can you understand where i am comming from?

I'd call that a pretty generous estimation.

Anyhow, how the hell can people on this board be expected to know the difference between types of hardcore when a large percentage of them don't even know the difference between there, their and they're?

London, New York, LA, Frisco, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, pretty much all the Netherlands. Some cities in Italy, Tokyo, Osaka, Phoenix, Nashville. Their all pretty into Hardcore. I guess it ISN'T dead!
I'm probably missing a fuck load of them too.

What people have said in this thread really proves, people don't think outside the box here in Vancouver. They think the centre of the universe is here.

you mean the other 97% of the vancouver electronic music scene that doesn't give to fucks about hardcore?

look peppertree, don't be a fucking douchebag just cause everyone else is not in key with hardcore like you. there is no reason for you to get offensive with me over a matter that is not within you're control. spin your music, have fun doing it, but don't expect others to follow.

cause they most likely won't.
