Do you see US (the people that like hardcore such as myself, Peppertree, b0ld, etc.) going online and bashing YOUR style of music? Does FireWire, Peppertree and b0ld ever make posts saying that drum n' bass, breaks, house, electro, funky, progressive, trance, hard trance, hard house are SHITTY? Do we say that dnb isn't even music? Do you see the ever-so-low 3% of hardcore lovers show disrespect to your 97% of dnb and house lovers? Just because you are the majority, it doesn't mean you have the power to call a genre "not music". Learn some common respect. Get an open-mind. Being close-minded like that just shows what kind of a person you are - the kind I stay away from. And before you go on accussing me of liking only hardcore, I'll just say that I like a lot of different music: (this is straight from my Nexopia and Myspace profiles): HARDCORE - Freeform - Finnish freeform - Happy hardcore - Breakcore - Gabber - Speedcore - Noisecore - Makina - IDM / Glitch - Japanese hardcore - Breakbeat - Trancecore OTHER - Hard trance - Hard house - Hard style - Hard dance - Techno - Trance - Psytrance - Goa / Psy - Breaks - Drum n' Bass - Electro house - Funky house - Speed garage - Eurodance - Chillout - Rap - Rock - Indie - Hip-Hop - Alternative Last edited by FireWire; Aug 21, 06 at 08:09 PM. |

I don't make posts bashing anything else, because I like everything else. The only thing I have an issue with is Speed Garage, and thats only because they use that same terrible patch for the bassline every time.
People here just hate happy hardcore because they don't understand music existing for the single purpose of being cheesy and fun. Its not supposed to be serious and sophisticated. Thats why so many people love it. |

I wouldn't call it "music" bc to me it just sounds like disorganized NOISE. |

OMG! Someone resurrected one of my posts from over a year and a half ago. I think I feel tears coming on. *choked up*
Seriously though, I still think people who call different types of hardcore "HHC" or "Happy Hardcore" are just being stupid. That was the point of the post when I made it what feels like a quarter century ago. Doesn't matter if you hate it or not, or even if I hate it or not, you'd look like an idiot if you called Breakcore or Psytekk "Happy Hardcore" the same way as if you called Snoop Dogg "East Cost Gangsta Rap" Still, I'm honoured that you're all wasting your time on something that was so unimportant I don't even remember writing it. Way to go... I'm glad I enriched your internet lives. :P |

you trying to make me out to be this bad guy by putting words in my mouth and calling "closed minded". all i did was express that i think hardcore is fucking whack, and that it is pointless to expect people to KNOW THE DIFFERENCE (not "like", "KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!!!") between hardcore and happy hardcore. i have friends that like hardcore and hhc, and i make fun of them for liking the music and they could not give a shit less. so my question to you is: why do you care so much? That's a recent party. Usually about 20 thousand people show up to events like this. Hardcore is pop music in some parts of the world. And now, I rest my case. |

You cant expect everyone to listen to everything, but I wish people would at least acept that there are other styles and everyone has different tastes. This thread is lame Its just the same thing over and over again. But keep arguing! Maybe youll make some kind of breakthrough! |

you seem a bit stressed taking on most people in this thread, take a break. go jerk off.

fine. i accept hardcore. i accept it as a genre, as a form of music, and that it is not the same as happy hardcore. i don't like the music, i don't like the parties (yes matt, i have been to some in the time i have been going to raves), and i find it rediculous to expect people who no nothing about the music to know the difference between hardcore and happy hardcore (after all, that is what this thread was started about........) call me narrow minded if you want, but at least i have a foundation for my arguement. you seem like a cool guy and i don't want to fight over this bullshit anymore (half of my bashing hardcore was just to get a rise out of peppertree anyway). |
