ok I'll give you credit for "yes, I know that they hand out papers to alot of ppl in a day, but for the past year I have gotten the same 3 people. And I know that if I see someone a few times I know that I'll remember them. I understand that the papers are good for reading material but that has nothing to with why I don't want it. I have my head phones on.

rather be GIVEN a free paper, than asked for my change, a meal (which they then say "i'd rather have the price of" when i actually will buy them one) or smokes...

i dont think newspaper handing out people will remember you even if they see you every day for 8 months. because they probably see a lot of the same people. plus, you're just another face to them whether you want to believe it or not.. the amount of traffic which passes them by each day is phenomenal.

i remember when i was working my 6am shifts, and would be walking down bute st. at robson and the newspaper guys would be out already! i mean shit, to have lots of people give you the "fuck off" look for however long it is they hand those things out each day has got to be really demoralizing, especially if you're trying to pick yourself up from addiction, poverty etc...

do the world a favour and smile, even if you don't want the paper
