Even though Carlos opened up to the girl, I'm pretty sure he didn't feel like she was 'the one'. Shit happens, we move on.

Trying to protect yourself from feeling anything or trusting people is going to deprive you of a lot of valuable life experience. And the attitude is kind of played, too.

Expectation is just as eaily disapointment. Never make asumptions in these situations.My new rule is, if your hitting it off with soemone who seeeeems "into you" don't asume because that doesn't mean they are single or even want a relationship at this time.

Rule two, girls do it too.

Sometime they are the WOW factor and to them we are not so much.
Sometimes we are the WOW and therefore become discontent with not feeling this same connection on other end.

My only advice is don't think of your love life as a ticking time bomb or even as a goooal for yourself to obtain. It's not like a job and i don't think hard work makes people fall for you? weird ideology. Find other goals within yourself that make you happy, start creating your enjoyment in life by getting focued and being apart of your own light, don't keep up the search for her, keep up the search for you. Even at 24 your never quite there. In your 50's you will still be searching, evolving and learning. I believe that once it's no longer a factor to your unhappiness or reason for 'being out' that stuff will just fall into place, naturally, as it should. With less disapointment and frustration if possible.

Love is the only thing hard work doesn't gaurntee. You can try, really, really hard to make somone feel a certain way about you(and to sustain that feeling) - it may not work. but you can put that same effort into your life and maybe meet somone will be completey true to yourself. Or at worst, establish good things for you to experience and look back on.
