theres a place in port moody called sinister skin... a friend of mine got her whole leg done in tribal there and told me that the guys there are some of the best at it... her tatty does look pretty wicked, I go there for piercings not tattoos but the guys there are pretty awesome, you could check it out if youre lookin for someone good :)

to be honest anyone that can color in the lines and trace a template can do a tribal tattoo.

why not get somthing that has meaning or somthing that is timeless? It took me years before I finaly decided what I wanted, I looked in every magazine and constinly looked at pictures on the net. I went to alot of different shops till I found the artist that was right for ME. now I have a beautufuil japanese sleve that tells a story and has alot of meaning to me.

Your opinion is flawed then. While I personally don't like most tribal pieces, there are a lot of possibilities with the style that a lot of artists don't explore.

I think the people in this thread who are criticising tribal designs are thinking about crap like this. I know it's the first thing that came to my mind when i came across the thread.


In reality tribal designs are very traditional, can be very original, and have been around for thousands of years. That is why a person would want to get it. It's not all bad.
