Ganja VS McDonald's
Which is worse for you? To me the answer is clearly obvious. Mothers and fathers take their children to these fast food places and destroy their bodies fragile balance through adolescence by shoveling this "food" into their mouths under the premise of a good meal. Up to 70% of these same people say that smoking pot is such a terrible drug and should never be made legal.
What do you think does more long term physiological damage to you? McDonalds? Or the Ganja? Last edited by pstylez; Jan 31, 08 at 03:35 PM. Reason: Mispelled Ganja with a "g" |

Wicked post. Love it. I would say both are evils in the fact they produce negative effects on the body with long term use. However on the flip, both taste great, are fulfilling and cause immediate pleasure after ingestion. CEO's and drug lords are no different people, so at this time I can't really come to comfortable side. I will be back to juggle my thoughts.

ganja without a question... the likelihood of a person eating enough mcdonalds to create health problems for themselves is pretty rare in itself.
I personally like pot, so I'm not about to list all the well known side effects from chronic use; we all know the score.... :P |

Do I really need to cite references for this morsel of common sense?
smoking is fucking bad for you!!!! So unless you are one of the rare breeds of marijuana users who are extremely cautious with their use of the substance ( ie strictly vaporiser, strictly cooking, minimal/casual use) YOU are at risk for physical illness. My personal experience... I have bronchitis now, gee I wonder how I scored that gem of a treat? hmmmmm.. I honestly don't know anybody who is a problem eater, but I do know many people who are addicted to marijuana. Last edited by -evil-duerr-; Jan 31, 08 at 08:09 PM. |

Ever heard of Avid ?
Probably not but you're smoking it. Growers don't flush, leaving mad chems in your buds. Spray it with Avid to kill spider mites. If you grew your own, 100% organic, then your safe. BC BUD isn't all it's cracked up to be. Just don't ever smoke a joint with a black ash. If it keeps goin out, just don't even bother tryin to light it back up. All you'll get is heart palpitations & paranoia. |

true story but even with the nicest white ash buds, smoking is smoking- it can't be that great for your health. It's crazy to deny that. Some of my good friends refuse to use pot other than in cooking or vaporizer, with nothing but the finest product from trustworthy sources. They are health nuts, but there's good reason for their chosen methods. |

Habit-forming? Yes. But, so is picking your nose and reading Garfield before Dilbert. And, if moderate ganja smokers were compared to moderate McDonald's eaters, I'd bet my money on the potheads before the 1/4 pounders for health, any day! Such a ridiculous thread! Go read some more. Wiki, perhaps?... Frosty (pfff!) |

LOL. Judging by your statememt you would be incredibly suprised. Obesity is the face of poverty in the United States. Fast food is the staple of the obse. Education far outweighs american television. Please do not mistake me for the "american uneducated population." |

If you break weed down and absorb it into butter, or if you vaporize it it causes little to no health problems. It is a prove FACT that THC, cannabinols and cannabinidols produce less blood toxicity than caffiene. The problem with marijuana is the smoke effect. The smoke (carcinogens, not to be mistaken with the actual chemicals that make you high) is what kills brain cells. Inhaling smoke of any kind kills brain cells. The THC and cannabinols do not whatsoever. It has never been proven (through the history of the world) that marijuana causes long term or short term physical effects (other than the direct effects of being high). Also another interesting fact you may wanna research on your own is that the human body is hard-wired to accept THC and cannabinoids and cannabinols. There are horomones produced by the brain called endocannabinoids that actively regulate your brains functions (even if you have never smoked weed in your life). That is one of the reasons why marijuana is so difficult to get rid of in your body--- because your body needs it. If you think that is BS then research other animals in our ecosystem that require or desire intoxicants to survive their harsh life. Many animals have a symbiotic relationship with plants to survive or simply make their life more enjoyable. My theory is that humans have a long-symbiotic relationship with marijuana which could possibly explain marijuana's contribution to human society such as all the uses of industrial hemp. Symbiosis is a two-way street. Usually caused by pleasure of one species that results from a practical use of another. All cool stuff to think about. Legalize bitches! :D |

The definition of Withdrawal, "The collective symptoms that occur when a drug is abruptly withdrawn and known as "withdrawal syndrome" and are often the only evidence of physical dependence" According to animal research and controlled studies of marijuana smokers during treatment of addiction, suggest that marijuana , just like with other drugs of addiction, experience withdrawal symptoms of many types. Symptoms of marijuana addiction are similar to smoking tobacco, the craving. Marijuana withdraw symptoms include, irritability, anger, depressed mood, headaches, restlessness, lack of appetite, and cravings for marijuana. Symptoms of marijuana withdrawal first appear in serious habitual users within the first 8 hours and are the most noticeable during the first 10 days, but withdrawal symptoms may last as long as 45 days The withdrawal from marijuana is identifiable by behavioral and emotional distress. “Most people think marijuana is a benign drug, and there is disagreement in the scientific community about whether withdrawal causes significant symptoms. I think that it depends on the persons personality. For an example, some one who has a history of anger, depression, brain disorders, or even uses another drug with marijuana, can boost the symptoms of marijuana withdrawal. People who use marijuana without thinking of consequences also show a great deal of withdraw because there altered perception or ideas on marijuana and feel that they have a need for it. The best way to avoid the symptoms are to use it in small doses and avoid taking it on a daily basis. Using marijuana takes allot of responsibility in deciding when the drug is appropriate to use at the current time. Its not good for a person to think that they can do anything "normal" while using marijuana because it leads to habitual use. it's like drinking and driving, Don't smoke if you are going to do something that requires allot of concentration , labor, operating a vehicle or machinery. Its just common sense. The symptoms of marijuana withdrawal include but are not limited to: irritability anxiety physical tension decreases in appetite and mood stomach pain physical tension restlessness anorexia insomnia increased aggression / anger strange dreams Because Marijuana is an illegal substance, many people consider any use of marijuana as substance abuse. However, this is said because substance abuse is a maladaptive pattern of repeated substance use created by recurring common adverse consequences (effects and side effects). Not everyone suffers the withdraw symptoms of marijuana, and uses it just to have a good time, or for an recent injury that is causing allot of pain (broken bone, major burn, abrasion, chronic pain). Its good to practice to take a break from marijuana for a month or longer so the withdraw symptoms can be identified by the person themselves and countered with a few remedies that really work. marijuana withdrawal isn't a myth, I've tried to quit and each time have fallen flat on my face.
this is coming from someone who has successfully kicked much harder substance addictions. Like the article said, it depends on the person. But to deny it completely is just bogus. |
