no, i don't know. that's my point. that's why i'm not judging this situation like you are. we don't know if madonna did it for publicity or if she can offer a better life (although probably)...all we know is that this child was adopted by someone and is now going to be taken out of an orphanage and not be in poverty anymore.

Madonna could have given the family $$ instead of ripping them apart... the child would have gotten the best of both worlds (out of the orphanage and still with his birth family), same with the father and the rest of the family.

this proves a point about another thread on the board about "i make better friends with guys". girls are opinionated and full of attitude. i dont play well with other girls. Madonna may not have given the father money, but she did infact donate money to the orphanage. The orphanage is where he was taken care of after all....

Are you serious? Celebrities are unable to give there children unconditional love? Does this only apply to adopted children? That was probably the stupidest thing said thus far.

I like it how madonna's concert tour is almost in the brinks of being a flop... so instead to grab the attention around the world she decide's to adopt a kid in none other then africa to essentially try and put a name to herself.... Its kinda how Bono and U2 comes out talking about the poor and the needy just around the same time when there album or a world tour announcement is released... After that they don't give a fuck..... The poor get poorer... The rich get richer....

That's not necessarily true about Bono. He's always doing things for AIDS and Africa. He's also goodwill ambassador for the UN. He speaks to world leaders about Africa on a regular basis.

Say what you will about the rest, but Bono is one of the few that actually DOES try to make a difference.
