I had to stop a few years ago, due to time constraints but I have done my own version of the "look good, feel better" program for a native program for DTES women. I did their make up, and gave them a care package with a toothbrush, underwear, toothpaste, deoderant and other odds and ends that I could afford, from my own pocket. I also helped with all of the programs childrens events by doing face painting. All of this was my money. No tax receipts. Because I choose to donate money locally and internationally instead of donating my time doesn't change the meaning of the donation. |
