if we are goin to make this place clean/positive/happy we have to start somewhere and racism is a good start because when people make comments then others get offended which starts shit most of the time.....so if we start with the racism maybe we'll get somewhere rite??

What I was referring to in my post is the fact that most wars and conflict in the world arise from people's religious beliefs. I did not mean to infer that religion is the cause of racism at all. In Western culture we don't perceive the church as wrong or to question the ideals that we are taught. I'm pretty sure the Roman-Catholic church won't ask their flock to go do something weird, but other religions have different ideals than we do and their view on us is quite different. When one has so much faith in their religion that they are willing so strap a bomb on their body and go destroy the evil in the west because that is the image that has been painted to them from the all-mighty then something is wrong. But who is going to question this? Go look back at history and see the conflicts that have arisen due to different views on religion. Holy wars have been fought between the different sects of Catholics and it won't stop anytime soon. I'm sorry if this may have pushed some buttons for people, but it is my opionion differences in opinion in regards to religion has caused more grief for the world than anything else. |

Okay... I see your point Winston.

I'm sure in Rome, there are still wars amongst the Churches, but the Church isn't as powerful as before. But to my knowledge, they lead their followers to promote good, and to help the human kind, not destroy it, right? My point was... saying that it's "religion" perhaps was not the right word. I was thinking more "culture" or "belief". And yes, there is a difference. |
