oh and you should get a tube bender so you can make U-shaped lamps out of straight ones. Actually a half inch emt bender will work great. |

I'm studying to be an actor, acting for film and television is going to be my main career focus.
My plan is to pursue music/writing simultaneously with the acting career. It's a bit of a gamble but I have confidence in my abilities. I could've signed up to study something that will guarantee me a good high paying job. But that's not me. I'm not a white colour. I'm not a blue collar. im a bohemian and a renaissance man.. here's hoping it's not all just some grandiose delusion and that I actually have a chance! ha ha ha /uncomfortable laughter |

Right now I'm a travel agent. And I LOVE it. It's still too new to tell for sure, but I really like this company so far and could see myself being with them for a long time. It looks like there's a lot of opportunity for advancement, so I may be able to carve out a rewarding career in the travel industry. With travel being pretty much my main passion in life, I couldn't ask for anything better. :)
However I'm not set on one thing in particular. Some form of sales-based leadership would be neat, like being a regional/national manager for a travel company or a rep for an inside sales vendor (think motorola or LG or whatever). I'd like to spend a few years working as a flight attendant maybe, and I'd also be really interested in finding something socially/ethically rewarding like working for an NGO in a developing or conflict-damaged country. I could also see a position in HR or sales training in my future. I can't really imagine picking one thing and sticking with it though. My career is a journey, not a goal. I get bored too fast and I always crave new challenges. |

I just got my first job in my career field and I start April 23rd!!! I'm the new Promotions Coordinator for StarFM in chilliwack and Country 107.1 (mainly starFM as country already has a promo coordinator...thank god! lol).
I graduated from the same program as ninjaboy in 2005 and just didn't feel like applying for any jobs. I've applied for maybe 3 jobs since I graduated and the third job I got an interview and 3 days later (Monday) they called and offered me the job. WOOT! FIRST INTERVIEW WHAT?! |

just finished up my bachelor's in nursing. I've been offered a job at the spine unit at vgh, but I'd also love to go into trauma, burns and plastics, pediatric palliative care, or possibly even work towards becoming a wound care clinician!
I realize that there's an incredibly diverse group of possible goals, but one thing I've realized is that life is so bloody unpredictable. I went from wanting to go into neurosciences, to community, to hating kids, to loving kids. however, I'm fortunate enough to be in a field that's in enough demand for me that I can actually have my choice in what I want to do. YAY FOR NURSES! |

Right now I'm a corporate trainer which is a lot of fun and pretty much zero stress. I'm also involved in designing course content and editing things that have been first written in french and poorly translated to english.
If I were to stay at the same company, I'd like to see myself getting into doing design full time. If not, who knows. I'd love to teach or become involved in journalism. If all else fails I'll just write comic books for a living :P |

I'm going to tie up all my loose ends in Canada so i'm able to leave the country for good.
1st step: TESOL certificate 2nd step: laser eye surgery. i fuckin HATE glasses and contacts! Then with the school I'm getting my certificate through, they guarantee you a job at the end and help you set up your visa and living accomidations, etc... Then I'm going to travel the world, teaching english. I'll stay at a job for a year at a time and move after each assignment. In my spare time, because TESOL teachers only work about 20 hrs a week, I'm going to continue developing my photography skills and attempt at getting some of my pics into National Geographic Magazine. ... and thats the life for me.
