heh, not bush, high desert maybe.
i was in southern idaho, maybe an 2 hours from nevada. i flew to phx for the weekend before i came back to van, and when i was flying home i was routed through LAX. when we departed for boise from LAX, the sun had just dropped below the skyline, and our pilot came on the pa and told us we were directly over the malibu fires. i've never quite seen anything like that before! at cruising altitude (i think like 30,000 ft) you could SEE the flames moving through the air, i was watching the news and they said that the combo of extreme heat and the speed at which the fires were growing/moving was creating "fire tornados" i saw a couple on the news. it was crazy.
