no and no. not telemarketing and not lottery. Doesn't really matter what I sell, does it? I've sold a lot of products and ideas for various companies. Tangible, intangible... their are differences but the basic skills remain the same.

^ Why do you think I post on this forum? Do you think I want everyone's praise or admiration? If I wanted to post on a forum where others agreed with me it sure as hell wouldn't be here.
you made a huge mistake in your assessment. you assumed I want people on this forum to agree with me. BTW Yes, I am a cold caller, I have been in various forms for 5 years. I've also trained countless others to cold call, which was my sole job(no cold calling myself) for a good 2 and a half of the years. |

I was promoted at the peak of my selling? you're kidding right? You realize I make over rids off of every person I train. Meaning I do less work, more reliable and make more money... Do you have any concept of how sales companies work?

And my point was I post here for the fact that everyone gets upset/angered and strongly disagrees with what i say. That is the reason I post her other than some where else. Why would I 'adapt' to others on this sites view points, or attempt to persuade in a different fashion? The way I'm approaching it gets the responses I am aiming for so why would I change?
If you;re trying to claim you know about sales you should know this; Never assume you know what an individual wants or desires. What may be the world to one, might be insignificant to another. What could make the deal with one, could break with another. |

not to mention the fact that I AM selling again. But not for the low commission I was years ago, but for the highest commission scale offered to management. meaning I've trained reliable reps who are self sufficient collect over rides for doing little to no work.. and make over double off my own sales than I did before. You're right though, moving up to a management position was a bad idea, motivated by 'slipping numbers and being a poor seller'.

^like I said I've sold various. i've worked sales jobs where their was no attempt to close until the 7th or 8th convo, i've worked other types where a sale could be made in 30 seconds.
I don't want to go in to what I do on this site. Like I said revolver, I'm not really trying to sell my ideas to anyone. I'm simply stating them on this site, and I state them here for the fact that few agree with my statements. Honestly I have nothing to gain from persuading anyone to think as I do. I do get a bit of a kick reading how worked up some get. Not like it's a hobby, it's inspired out of boredom. Yes, boredom. No, that doesn't mean I have nothing to do in my life, it simply might mean I have a bit of free time here and there. Like tonight, I worked all day... my girlfriend is working all night, and I work again in the morning. As dull as posting on this site is, it beats most television. |

^ believe it or not the 'greasy operations' that pay purely on commission are by far the highest paying if you are good.
a friend of mine sells high end vaccuums door to door. he made~12 grand a couple weeks ago in a 6 day week. the one job I had where it was 7 or 8th convo before closing to get several thousand dollar/month accounts was by far the lowest paying sales job I have ever had. It might have been the most 'socially respectable' but in terms of quality of other reps in the business it was a joke(all but a few were pathetic) and the money potential was low. |

^ I didn't say I pick the 'A' students. I said I go off attitude. If someone lacks skill but WANTS to learn I will TEACH them, because in my mind they have more potential than someone with natural talent but no desire to learn.
