this is the worst review i've ever read. if you're into buddhist philosophy, this is a great book.

Someone mentioned Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates and Jitterbug Perfume, which I have to enthusiastically second. Also The Eden Express by Mark Vonnegut. My favorite book of all time. Good luck though. It's been out of print for a long time :( edit: also Illusions by Richard Bach, and Vancouver (I forget the authors and am too lazy to google, but it is a big fat historical novel set in guess-where that spans thousands of years in the area) Last edited by prozac; Dec 17, 07 at 05:19 PM. |

"collected stories" -gabriel garcia marquez. a collection of short stories.
"rogue primate" -john livingston. an essay on "human domestication" which touches on a lot of related subjects (environmentalism, animal rights, ecology, social structure, globalization, etc.). please note that it doesn't touch on these subjects in the usual "pro-/anit-" methodology. i didn't like "siddhartha" either. i felt like it was telling me things i already knew. like being jesus and reading the bible. |
