Well i dont think she has ever promoted herself as anything more than a dj...am I wrong?
Her name is dj b traits and she is a great dj in both the business and entertainment sense. Credit should be given where credit is due and as a dj, she deserves that credit. Of course there are producers out there who will never get a portion of the success she has but that is just the way our society works. Just look at it as any other job, she is a hard worker and she gets out there and does what needs to be done. Not everyone is going to be the top salesman but that doesn't mean they aren't a hard worker and deserving of some praise. |

miss rwellbelove.. back the truck up!!!
not once was I defending shitty bedroom dj's or half assed myspace producers. If you look back at the post you'll see I made specific reference to GREAT djs/producers. I'm just sharing what I've heard from interviews of the great musicians/dj's I respect. I was not defending myself or the legions of wannabes. Anyways, your argument about there being masses of crappy music out there coming from wannabe producers falls flat. There's always been shitty musicians out there, honestly I don't listen to them because nobody plays their tracks and no reputable record label will ever sign them. Obviously I was not talking about the wankers who -download reason -mom and dad pay for them to take audio engineering -5 years later their studio is up for sale -No one ever heard of them, no one ever cared I wasn't even making reference to producers in the first place, the dj's I mentioned (Craze, Ztrip, Qbert) are all known for their turntablism skills. So I don't know why you even brought up cheesy myspace producers. and I think you took the hermit thing a bit too literally. Iam not so silly as to think that all it takes to be a great dj is to not leave the house. I think it's important to get yourself out there, but I think it is more important to make sure you have skills/portfolio to really make a splash so that people actually take notice when your getting out there. ? really, that's too bad. I think I've been fairly concise, I'd ask you to elaborate on your argument if you had one to begin with. |

yep, for the night we're planning we've got a few females on board, a dj and one that also does vocals for a live pa artist.
Since our first night is a reputation builder we have to think like the pervs. fortunetly, the talent is top notch! |
