I HAVE THE DELL 13 INCH THIN/ULTRAPORTABLE AND AS A BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL (I DO LOTS OF VISIOS, SPREADSHEETS, POWERPOINT TRAININGS ETC ETC) AS WELL AS A HUGE FUCKING NERD (VIDEOGAMES, 1000 SSH WINDOWS SWITCHING 4 LANES, TOP DOWN, SCREAMING OUT, BASH AINT A THING), AS WELL AS SOMETIMES DJ (SERATO) I LOVE THE SHIT OUT OF THIS FORM FACTOR.
THINGS THAT MATTER TO ME: -HOW LIGHT IS IT (CAN I CARRY IT AROUND WITH 1 HAND COMFORTABLY, CAN I PUT IT IN A BRIEFCASE AND NOT NOTICE ITS THERE, CAN IT BE A DEVICE I CAN CARRY ABSOLUTELY ANYWHERE WITHOUT ENCUMBERING ME SO I AM ALWAYS ABLE TO WORK?) -BATTERY LIFE (CAN I WORK FOR AN ENTIRE 6 HOUR PLANE RIDE?) -KEYBOARD (IS IT FULL SIZE OR DO I HAVE TO ADAPT TO IT) -WARRANTY (IF THIS THING BREAKS AND IM IN BUTTFUCK NOWHERE HOW SOON IS IT FIXED) WHILE I THINK I LIKE MY LAPTOP A LITTLE MORE THAN THE MACBOOK LIGHT, I STILL WOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER IT IF I WAS MAKING A PURCHASING DECISION AGAIN TODAY. (AT LEAST IN MY BUSINESS (BANDWIDTH/COLO/MANAGED SERVICES) IF YOU GO TO A BIG INDUSTRY CONFERENCE (ARIN/STREAMING MEDIA/GDC), THIN AND LIGHT DELLS/VAIOS/TOSHIBAS ARE ALL YOU SEE PEOPLE USING)o |

nah, the led is just the backlighting method.
someone correct me if im wrong but i think the actuall lcd panel is same'o same'o,sourced from samsung/sony plant in korea like most cells are...but it might come from somewhere eles so if someone can digg on that cool looking at the pics they could of pushed out the screen abit more.those are some chunky lookin sides too it. |

YA THATS WHAT I MEANT, REREADING WHAT I SAID IS KINDA LOLS NOW (SUP IM TOTING A LITE BRITE)
IT IS THE SAME PANEL, DIFFERENT MODEL NUMBERS BENEFITS: -BATTERY LIFE IS GREATLY INCREASED -WHITES ARE WHITER, OTHERWISE SIMILAR QUALITY -THINNER -SUPPOSEDLY LASTS LONGER, BUT ILL BELIEVE THAT WHEN I SEE IT WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY IS THE LED BACK ISNT THAT THICK SO ALL OF THE LED LIT SCREENS I SEE HAVE A BORDER TO ALLOW FOR SOME RIGIDITY |

its just that the panel chasis around my 15' led mbp seems alot thinner then that on the mba. the mba is now their premeir 'boutique' product. i think they could of used much a smaller chasis for the panel.they easily could of.if they did the visual impact of this thing would of increased ten-fold. |

90 percent of the time i take out the battery if im plugged in. i tend to use my editing gear really intesively. dropping the battery increases life and helps with ventilations i could cook a fucking egg on my book after a editing session of only 45 min for fuck sakes. im waiting to see the reviews of gen2 or 3 of this thing and what sort tech they can fit. |

The air is pretty impressive and I can see it being a bonus for the traveling business type. I wouldn't jump on it for personal use, but im liking the other new technologies and look forward to seeing them on my future computer. My only question is the durability of the air being taken around on trips?
