"Get used to hearing the word 'dongle' in casual conversation, because Apple is shipping one for the MacBook Air -- an Ethernet to USB adapter for those who absolutely must use a wired network. For $29 you get a 10/100Base-T Ethernet connection and the opportunity to use up your one USB port for connectivity (hint: either get used to typing on the full-size keyboard on the laptop, or pick up a small USB hub). It's not the fastest gun in the West but it will certainly get the job done."
-TUAW I had my doubts ... but this sealed the deal, you think it will make DJing even easier? and yes whoever said 2nd gen is on point, same with iPhone when it goes 3G. |

only 1 usb port as well, so if you're using an external hdd/dvd-rw/mouse you need to carry a hub as well. this notebook is kinda pointless if you ask me... total fashion machine, little functionality. slow cpu, slow and small hdd, no optical drive, 1 usb port, no wired lan... all for only $1800!

a lot of things that you could normally connect via USB are now available (and more and more each day) through a bluetooth connection. so if you want that printer connected or that mouse connected, you can just BT it.
The remote optical drive feature is kinda neat, too. Biggest/coolest feature is the ssd. |

even the corporate professional is not going to sacrifice the functionality of a regular notebook for something that's about an inch thick, its pointless. you can get slim and light without sacrificing the standard features of a computer.

IT DOES EVERYTHING A CORPORATE NEEDS, IT DOES IT FASTER, LIGHTER AND SIMPLER. IT DOESN'T NEED ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. NOT EVERYTHING IS MARKETED AND TAILORED TO THE NEEDS OF AN EARLY 20'S GAMER!!! o |

legitimate question for someone who knows mac software a bit better:
I know they have office for mac, but do they have exchange/enterprise for mac? For a lot of people being tied into their exchange server is critical for work. If MS has exchange for mac, then I really can't see any reason why this machine would limit a professional in any way? afaik macs and PCs can network share files now too? |
