There is no great conspiracy for illegal wiretaps (as evidenced by your article about the illegal wiretaps being investigated and most likely punished harshly.

How is this a minor discrepancy? Your whole post is that AT&T owns bell, and the NSA could start monitoring your internet easily.

Being proven that AT&T doesn't own bell, the NSA doesn't have authority in Canada is not a "minor discrepancy" in your post. It's the whole post.

As far as I'm concerned, everything that we say or write on the internet (public or private) is potentially recorded and could come back to in the form of future prosecution.

I'm sure the government is super interested in monitoring you post youtube videos...
