Really depends on the torrent though. Ports don't limit speed, just which people you can download from (two people behind closed ports can't interchange data on torrents).

What are you talking about? i asked if she was getting 25mbps with Novus. I didn't mention Telus or any other provider/internet speed in that post.

Whatever, Microsoft has a pretty massive R&D department. So far the only thing they've been able to give themselves a competitive advantage with has been XBox Live, which has been around for years now.

Just because a company pays people to develop stuff for them doesn't mean they'll produce anything new and different. Especially such a marketing-centric company as Telus. At best those employees spend every day going "How can we compete with <X feature our competitors have>?"

I don't care to stick up for Telus anymore, if I wasn't working here and seeing things in R&D i would still think they suck, but when HDTV streaming hits the public we'll all be laughing becuase again , the speed of the spec if 80Mbps so that should be above and beyond a 1080p stream and then some

I'm also pretty sure that whatever you are talking about won't affect my day-to-day needs for internet or my regular just watching a plain-old-normal-not-HDTV-tv. Not everyone cares about HD or digital. I care about being able to see it, and how much it costs and not having a contract. And by the time Telus has anything ready to go, I'm sure someone else will have something 5x better, cheaper, and no contracts.

edit : it's the business model that Telus has that fails, moreso than their products

3-5 years but again , this isn't bad for anyone, there will come a time when we talk to our grandkids and say we used to have to wait for files to download

but until that time, don't get me wrong if i was in a new building downtown id be all over novus

oh and novus always had MTV, they have moved it 3 or 4 times though. It was on 94 and then 104 or something and now its on 66. I can't watch SD channels anymore though, it's like using one of those monochrome monitors.
