Basically, whatever party you vote for, you know the guy on the ballot more or less has the same views as portrayed by the party leader.

You must also take into account though the individual, because no matter what side of the political spectrum you happen to sit on, having a party full of political hacks who basically just spout whatever the party leader tells them is Bad for all involved. Wouldn't you agree?
Hence why people shouldn't focus so much on party and focus a bit more on who it is that's representing them.
Our system is built on representatives, and when people ignore who their representatives are, their representatives ignore what the people want them to do.
