The voters didn't want Stephane Dion as Prime Minister. I *know* we elect MP's not a PM, but most Canadians don't think that way. Stephane Dion was very unpopular nation wide.
Also, the Liberal Party has lost faith in Stephane Dion, and they don't even want him to lead the party. They're holding a leadership race in May(I believe..). So if niether the Canadian people, NOR THE LIBERAL PARTY, has faith in Stephane Dion, how is it logical for him to become the Prime Minister? Also, I believe this coalition government won't happen. Michael Ignatieff has stated he is AGAINST it. Mr. Ignatieff is estimated to have the backing of roughly 50 Liberal MP's. If only 9 no show at the confidence vote I assume will now be in January, the Conservatives retain power. |

that just goes to show that dion has nothing to gain, i dont think this is much of a power grab for him as it is for jack layon, dion knows he'll be gone in a few months. |

Near as I can tell, the conservatives and bloc are the only parties that actually have their shit together. Hopefully those other douches will think things over during the break. |

If he gets the coalition ball rolling, then maybe he wouldn't get ousted because there's proof he's capable of actually doing something?

I don't see how anyone is shocked about the cutting of funding to the Parties(1.95/vote)
It's nothing but a tax payer bail out. If the Cons are AGAINST bailing out failing corporations, why would they be FOR bailing out failing political parties? |

some refered to the coalition party leaders as the "old boys club". Which makes sense... these babies just want a crack at the PM spot. That's obvious.
Even though the coalition is part of the game and is within the law, only problem I see is the type of dictation that the Bloc will have in this. Gilles Guisspe (sp) is older than dirt and his policies are wack. Harper is scared silly. That tv spot he did seemed desperate. |

Just a little perspective
new Ipsos Reid poll says -Nearly 75% of Canadians are 'truly afraid for the future of the country' -60% of Canadians would "Prefer another election over the Coalition lead by Stephane Dion taking power" -46% of Canadians would definitely vote Conservative if another election were called, that's clear majority waters people -60% of Canadians think the Conservative plan is the best to manage the economy. |

"Now, here are some results from our phone-in poll: 95% of the people believe Homer Simpson is guilty. Of course, this is just a television poll which is not legally binding, unless proposition 304 passes. And we all pray it will." |

In my opinion it's political suicide for the Liberals. They've had trouble with public perception lately, but now it's even worse... |
