Didn't know there was a movie, my uncle just moved and was giving stuff away , so i grabbed all the books. Most are crap , but there are a few gems here. Timeline by Chricton is in there......and i hope for my sake it is better than the movie.

is the Day after Tommorow about the next ice age and all that disaster goodness? because that's what the movie was about, it was released this summer.

i haven't read Timeline, but i really like all of Critchon's other stuff. he does so much research into what he's writing about.

Just started the book , but it's a twisty crime thriller type. Don't really see how natural disasters would fit in.

Decent summary of it there.

It seems like it going to be a good read, and it sais "A compellingly intricate tale ....pyrotechnic plotting" right on the book , so it must be good!

"The Celestine Prophecey" - A peruvian Manuscript is discovered that contains the great meaning of life and human evolution. IF YOU HAVEN"T READ THIS BOOK TAKE IT OUT AT THE LIBRARY OR EVEN BETTER BUY IT. I've read it 5 times now and find it fascinating.

I've been lucky to have travelled through alot of africa and when Wilber Smith writes about his african stories I can get such vivid imagery in y head. A literary master for sure.

thanks max, good thing i didn't go out and read Rage first. i remember the first thing that drew me to that book was that it had a really wicked cover...that green lightening thing.

g-style: you've been to africa? damn you. and also, my friend keeps telling me to read the celestine prophecies...i think i'm going to have to go and pick it up.

with both of the 'the courtneys' and 'courtneys in africa' series, you can still pretty much pick up any book at any time and follow the story, but it does help, as each book follows the previous generation.

I've been pretty spoilt when it comes to travelling. I've been lucky! Yeah you should pick up Celestine you'll like it for sure. I can understand why some people don't like it but if you have an open mind and like exploring different prophecies its really awesome. It paints some vivid pitures in the mind.

the first book that i picked up from him didn't have any of his other works in it, so i wasn't sure if it was the second or what. apparently it is. rage is the third book, but i'm sure goat already explained that.

book four to the dark tower series sucked IMO. i didn't like the going back in Time thing.
