If you have watched the Canucks play this year. They have concentrated less on scoring and more of a defensive style game. In the playoffs, its all about defense. Rarely will you see blowouts. By the time playoffs come around, 'Nucks will be ready.
I'm not saying that Cloutier will win us the cup, but Vancouverites need to put some faith in him. Also, we have Hedberg. If Cloutier does bomb, Hedberg has playoff experience and can be put in. Last year, 'Nucks didn't really have an option with another goalie We need Matt Cooke back and possibly pick up a second line scorer. Jeff O'Niel is an option. So is Miroslav Satan & Peter Bondra. `t1m |

I'm not jumping off the wagon.....just looking at our team with a critical eye. Nevertheless, GO CANUCKS. |

True that. I believe thats why the Nucks picked up Hedberg. He had playoff experience with the Pen's a couple years back and he did good. Our defensive system has changed too. We have around the same amount of goals for compared to last year but our goals against has dropped. Defense wins u the cup! |

He must be one of those only basketball watchers. As for what I think the canucks need in order to win the cup is this. They are #1: Going to have to believe they can win though I think they have a stronger sense of that than last year. #2: Defence is huge, especially because the playoffs revolve around TIGHT CHECKING, and SQUEEKY CLEAN GOALTENDING. I believe our goaltending is good when it needs to be but i mean common the playoffs are another story in it own. Its li ke the start of a new season so i am not gonna say m uch about this, cept thart hedburg at least has a reputation for being a playoff goalie with his part in pittsburgh. #3: Our star players have to be better, though this year in terms of defence vs offense the stats are in my opinion better suited to the playoffs. Look at bertuzzi +24? naslund +21 is it? All the canucks actually pretty much are even or +, i do agree though tim we could use a better second line i mean right now it is working with Arvedson and the Sedins, but every few months the sedins need another VETERAN!! Thats key to the sedins production, that it be trevor linden, trent klatt last year etc.. #4 Hopefully the experience we have picked up from the last 3 years or so comes in handy, cause I am sure the canucks don't want to be swallowing another bitter sweet pill. I say Canucks have the material to get the cup, but DO THEY HAVE THE DESIRE, DRIVE, COURAGE to take a beating, cause last years canucks dished out punishment in the blues series but didn't in the minnesota series. If teams come at them charging the canucks better get ready to fight back. Canucks can win the cup honestly if they piece together everything otherwise i say next year. |

very nice avatar Kenji.
The Canucks definatly can win the cup but the only way i see it happening is if we click come playoff time. As i said before its a no brainer that nothing is certain in the world of sports. Just cause you have a team filled with experiance and stars like Colorado and Detroit does not guarentee them anything except maybe a playoff spot. Straight up we just have to be solid up and down our lineup and we gotta be clicking. Im hoping for the best and it's amost my dieing wish to see the Canucks win the cup once in my lifetime so lets all hope for the best. |
