I'll admit US outplayed Italy, but only because they looked like they didn't know how to react to the american all out attacking style of defence... losing Totti sucked ass too ... knowing his temper it was the smart thing to do to take him out. There was no rhythm to that game.... Italy will bounce back

hmmm.... I don´t want to say the Italian soccer players are weak... but everytime toni or Gilardino got the ball, they were attacked on their feet or pushed from on of those fuckers from behind... In my opinion everytime they got the ball they were also a bit afraid of getting fucking injured by one of those american fighters. It shouldn´t be an excuse for the tie, but I bet every team plays more carefully if the other team is called USA.... I seriously want to see how Ghana is going to react, or if the USA are playing as tough as against Italy |

sorry, you could have said this 4 years ago, but after all what happened in may this year and is still going on in Italy ( soccer scandal around that son of a bitch luciano moggi and it was his fault juventus won all the time... read: http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/05/21/news/juve.php ), I am pretty sure Italians just want to regain credibility from international soccer federations... they just care about getting far in the cup to put those awful stories aside... |

The decision between keeping Crouch in and starting Rooney are at complete opposite ends of the spectrum.
Crouch has proven himself, the choice to keep him in was the right one, and I wouldn't have taken him out either. Hell he's the only bit of life I see on that squad. As far as putting Rooney in to start this game, it's probably the poorest decision he could make. |
