To go or to not go back to EA
I'd be going through 3rd party recruiters. I basically have the job.
I'm giving up $6 per hour to go. But i'd be happy, i build my resume again for QA and I get away from this terribly awful god damn stressful piece of shit job. |

Cause im behind in technology.
I only tested one next gen game, which was FIFA Champions league and that was just a direct port of FIFA 2006 with less features. I asked them if i wanted to move up, volt would have no problems with me doing so? I'm basically asking around to see if this is a good idea, all i know is I need out of Shaw NOW! I have no doubt in my mind that as soon as I'm there, I can start working to get my assistant producer role.. Just take it up the ass for 6 months straight and I should be able to do something. Not to mention that one of my friends is a QA manager there. |

believe me terence, i tried them all and for some reason my resume isnt working. I assumed because i'm behind in video game technology even though i know a bit about all the new engine's coming out. |

The problem is, you'll be brought in for a project or two specifically. After that's done, you have no secured job. I worked in the CATLab last summer, and I was lucky because it was a year round thing where I could stay if I wanted to, but I was only taking the summer off. Even people on Fusion were brought in for projects, not the long haul. Yes, some people do get to stick around and yes, some even eventually become EA employees now. The problem is, there's tons of kids who have been Volt/AngusOne employees there for a couple years who are much more in line to get that promotion than somebody new. If someone straight out of high school was interested in QA, I totally think volt/angusone is a good idea. However, at your age....not to sound preachy/parenty, but I really think you can do better than an outsourced QA job at EA. Being promoted through the ranks is extremely tough there now when you start outsourced. |

oh, it's outsourced? Even worse - really hard to move up in a when you've been outsourced - especially since a lot of these outsourcing companies have clauses in their contract about being hired on by the companies they work for. Most have some no-compete clause which doesn't allow you to work for a similar company for a number of months.
I wouldn't do it either unless you career focus is going QA itself... |
