I've ended up with a couple of extra tickets to see NYC's The Slackers this Tuesday at Red Room. If anyone's interested in accompanying me and the incomperable chadwick, lemme know.

For research purposes, or just for awesome roots ska/reggae, I can't recommend their album _The Question_ highly enough.

sadly this is the best example i could find. all the rest are 14 year old wannabe rudeboys that dont quite understand the concept of rhythm and are under the impression dancing is more to do with how fucking stupid you look.

I remember many years ago there was a guy I worked with in Summer Camp who ran a radio show on UVic's station called Skankster's Paradise. One time I was listening and found out about Ska-fest, which was in my area, and went to check it out. Buncha punk rockers doing the Molly Ringwald dance and a punk band with a horn section. I recall having a blast despite knowing nobody.
