People are acting like this has never happened before, does everyone get this bent out of shape everytime this happens? Do you all gather dirt on one another for when crap like this happens? It's stupid let it go money was lost by many involved from what I can gather, so why bitch? Let it go.

the scene does have a lot of shadyness. But from what ive seen around in passed few years, there are a lot of promoters just tryin to make some kash and there arent many of them doing anything to better the scene other then the drama they create. But at the same time, it is kinda hard trying to put a show for kids who cant even overlook 20 $. My comments arent directed to any promoter in particular, nor am i defending money, but i do realize that this is not about 20 $ its about principles. Im just saying in order for the scene to get better promoters have to work along side party goers. And companies should put their differences aside, at least hide them from the public eye and out of public forums. Drama is entertaining but it only damage the scene and the relationship of companies, promoters and party goers.
I dunno, maybe one day we will have the support of the city and have the sponsorship of major companies and maybe even expand the market in vancouver so we can have shows on monthly basis. *sigh* |

If say a standard were set where just an example would be.
In the event of a party not happening a make up event will be held or ticket refunds can be obtained for five buissness days after the orginal scheduled event. Then there wouldn't be any problems when this shit happens cause everyone would know what to expect and how to handle the situation when it happens. You want a refund then you have 5 days to make arrangments if you are hapy with attending a great make up party then thats cool too. Give the customer the options and then there will never be any confusion and BS. |

conflict, confrontation, hate and violence has long replaced the peace and love erra of rave. it's what keeps parties happening, everyone wants to find out who hates who this week. keep it up and maybe raves will actually become popular again under these newer conditions. maybe they'll even proove profitable for those who've lost so much tryin to through them for happy people. be mad, be hateful and buy rave tickets
There are always going to be mistakes and losses in the rave scene, that's because nobody takes a course in promoting 101, and most business skills of a lot of promoters are learned in the drug trade really. nothing is going to be solid , i'd say dont buy your tickets till the day of but that would fuck us all over because promoters are HUGELY dependant on pre sales, without them, sound isnt pre paid, venue isnt secure ect, making parties more likely to flop. all anyone can do is buy there tickets from promotors they trust and have reasonable sympathy and patience if they fail. in the end , all weight and responsibility is on the promoter and they should be willing to accept that, financially and otherwise. i'm not sure money has made any statment on how he plans to handle this problem, but i think anyone in his situation deserves a little time to figuer out their stratagy in tackling the mistake . like i said before, sit tight and hope for the best |
