As much as i'd love to finally see bt, i don't think im down with paying that much; specially for a pro. company that hasn't really proved to be worthy!

doomsnight was a success. so what? thats not enough reputation!

I paid $135 for NYE in Sydney...
It was in a HUGE open ware house on the harbour right beside the bridge so you could see ALL the city fire works go off.
The main room was the ware house that was totaly pimped out with lazers, disco balls, tv screens, massive first class stage, and most important bars... the second room out side by the water.
Headliners; Basment Jaxx and Roger Sanchez about 4 hours each.

One of the best nights of my life and worth the $135 ($110 canadian)!

Just an idea for promoters...

lol guess none of you realize the costs of a nye show....everything is atleast double, especially with those headliners. if any of you actually paid attention to tickets prices vs actual cost of the show, you would know that there was no way in hell that solid could have made a dime off of doomsnight.

anywho, thats my two cents. i'm not saying high priced tickets are a good thing, and that you have to deal with it, just the mentality behind the numbers

well all we can do is to compare it with last years massive.
DJ Swamp
DJ Dopey
GTR
Bass-Sick Boys
Pulser
Atomic Hooligan
Mike Downey

@ plaza. same price as this.
better lineup, and it was Twisted. What im saying is atleast Twisted has worked up its reputation/trust to ask for such money from people.

i would say that bt and ztrip costs cover about 3/4 of the costs for those djs (not saying they're bad, just cheaper)

and the colliseum is alot more expensive then the plaza of nations.

since bt (i think Z trip too) is gonna be in seattle for NYE, it wouldn't cost as much to just drag him in for an hour.

Having thrown shows there I know the venue cost, security, fire, police, etc. I am also aware of an approx. on the talent cost -- not taking into account some of the magic that Rick Mezey can do with booking that entire line-up. Don't get me wrong, the talent cost was really high BUT... All I am saying is they made money. A lot.

They were not in a comfortable position until we announced the Spooky change over. Then BOOM. The formula for an instant sellout.

I'm not dismissing the talent Rick and them brought nor the talent they are bringing for New Years... just saying, they made a killing on Halloween.

yeah the main thing being, solid wouldn't be doing this for long if they didn't make any $.
twisted keeps doing it regardless.
that's the kinda of thing that deserves loyalty.
other companies come and go, twisted is the only one left from like what? 7 years ago? not even counting concious groove, which would make it like 9 years or something?

^ Thanks for this support bro.

Oh God have we lost money!!!! Oh my... Anyone remember the last simple when we flew out DJ Antione? -- One of the best DJ's I've ever heard, but the place was empty. :( --> Azim and I didn't take into account that we booked the party in the heart of mid-term season. OOPS.

what? read the words myles

ticket prices (meaning the prices you find on the back of any rave flyer) vs the cost of the show

doesnt add up

ztrip isnt just coming for 1 hr. or even 2.

its just funny to see how people so frequently attack solid, finding anything they can take a stab. yet at the same time any mistake or decisions that other large production companies makes is looked at as an accident and forgotten about instantly

Dude... ANYONE that throws massives bares this kind of criticism. Welcome to the life of throwing massives and doing business. Twisted has before although minus the whole "Solid-rep" thing that people have brought up... Obviously we're not the newbies in the scene.

Just a thought.

Oh and PS: this is why Twisted on any of our New Years show's have never brought in MASSIVE names... it just makes it WAY to unaffordable for the kids. Not to say we didn't want to, it just makes ticket prices un-realistic and therefore break even near impossible because you simply won't get the attendance.
