Wouldn't filling the capacity or expected # be a bit out of reach with the price beginning so high? With enormous competition, I would have expected them to at least up the ticket sales before setting the $70/ticket bar. :047:

That was just a thought pondering...

I think they are starting it at $70 to prevent people from buying all the cheap tix and scalping them for big $$$.

Why not keep all the $$$ for themselves?

Competition suck ass eh? :c-tard:

yeah, i totally understand that NYE shows cost more to put on because of upped costs of venue and such, but it still seems ridiculous (to use the word most popular in this thread) to start this party at 70 bucks.

what have been the starting prices of other NYE parties held at the PNE over the past few years? i know there are going to be differences, but it would be interesting to compare.

^to my understanding the last nye show @ the colliseum was thrown by exert for the 01 or 02 new yrs

i dont even remember who they had or what ticket prices were tho.

so basically we agree that we understand why tickets are priced at what they are, its just that you are not satisfied with them right? unfortunately theres nothing that can really be done about that now.

and to everyone else, i wouldnt take this as a "sign of things to come" (pricing) as this is a nye show, all other shows should have regular ticket pricing.

well said i mean how many people paid 70??? and if 70 is a constant price, maybe mvoe it up to 80 or 85 couple weeeks before but not move it again...... u keep it constant, bitching early but people always end up going........

as far as bong man........ i guess we wont see u there...... but think of how far 50$ will take you on new years bro, i mean what like 3 pitchers at a bar????

you wont get too far not to mention the 10 hour time of yo life especially with this line up.

my bad i totally forgot to consider the up'ed venue costs and djs costs. BUT one thing that would be interesting to see is if they put the money to works on other things such as set up as well. i think having ppl pay probably 200-400 at the door day of, and having it on NYE as well i would be extremly impressed if they had a setup and visuals like their set up at imf (the first one). it would just make sense..cuz i have been to other solid party's after that imf and everytime i showed up at one i was lookin forward to a hype setup, and naadaaa.. unfortunate, but im sure other things took priority. its definatley going to be an interesting show. g'luck solid!

i guess my problem with this whole thing is who it seems they are catering their party too. in my opinion, it doesn't look like they are thinking too much of the youth population of vancouver.

sure they say that they're delivering us a quality show with great headliners (and the headliners are great), however, the price of this 'quality' show (whether justified or not) is much more than the average kid can pay.

it seems as though they are hiding behind the upped costs of a show on NYE and the price of their headliners, so they can cater to the crowd that can afford these type of things, leaving the average FNK raver out in the cold.

they know the show is going to sell thousands of tickets, it just doesn't look like they cared too much about who was going to buy them.

well, like joy said.. if you just not buy weed/coffee/booze or whatever once or twice out of your original habit, you should be able to afford a ticket.

yeah, its on the expensive side but hopefully they can do something impressive to show that the money is going towards something *cough* stage 4 *cough* :017:

First off, the first IMF was consider the BEST EVER the setup to hit Western Canada period. Highly unlikely that we'll be shelling that kind of cash for the setup again b/c Solid Corp lost over $60,000 that year on the first IMF. Even this year's IMF we lost over $20,000 which isn't a joke. We are trying to manage our expenses and costs. Its not as simple as 1-2-3 and money doesn't grow on trees (as you guys would say). Lastly, dooms night's lineup was not a joke PLUS we were ONLY selling tickets at the door at 1230am to 130am. Plus we had LIMITED sales of max 120ish tickets. Usually there's over 500 door sales to sell, but we sold out our tickets like a week in advance. Before the sellout, you could have easily got ur tickets at a cost of $65-$70 week before the show. So uhh..I wouldn't have complained if you had supported Solid from the start which you could have easily got tix at $45 in the beginning. Lastly, we sold out even before Spooky announced their problems with their all night permit.

Support what you believe is worth -- if we see lack of support for this show, we'll just degrade the lineups & quality more to accommodate the people. That is as simple as counting 1-2-3 for us.

that sounds like a threat!!
and don't worry.. im pretty sure that your show will sell out, no doubts. But i think all we're trying to say is that these types of parties completely change the demographics for the party goers. but that doesn't matter to you. and i don't see why it should.

Its not a threat. We're just going by economics. Its more like going by the supply and demand. If the demand for high quality show is not there, we'll have to lower it to match the equilibrum.

hey man, someone's got to play devil's advocate here. just because we're inquiring into the pricing of the show doesn't mean we're 'fucks'.
