Unfortunately Ashes, Grafhic, Edge 1, DJ Marvel, etc. All those people on the Ephin Label or whatever it is now. Not my cup-o-tea |

That's such a small spectrum of the Vancouver hip hop scene and again just because YOU don't like it, it doesn't mean it's not good.
Back to the topic of hand two of my favorite hip hop albums of this year were Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass Mos Def - True Magic |

Spank Rock - Fabriclive.33
Justice - Cross Simian Mobile Disco - Attack Decay Sustain Release Mark Ronson - versions give me a few months for the next 1. Britney gets an hounorable mention though. Seriously though everyone knows that hip hop albums are shit. Whens the last time every track sounded right to you? If this were top hip hop singles of 07 I would throw some shit up. There were too many dudes putting up amazing singles or eps. Cool Kids, The Pack, Kid Sister, Lil Wayne, Dj Khaled, Gorilla Zoe, Gucci Mane, UGK, |

When's the last time every track from any album sounded right to you? That's a pretty bold statement to make and just because there weren't any groundbreaking releases this year that doesn't mean that "hip hop albums are shit."

What I meant to say is that recently hip hop albums have been shit. I'm really not sure who is to blame; The artist? You and I? Record Companies? Its obvious that no one is buying cds anymore because well they aren't getting "cds" What they're getting is a crafty way of marketing 3 really good jams on a cd with 12 tracks. Its like some Costco shit. |

two of my fav lp's from 07 are hiphop records. The kentaro album was without a doubt my most listened to disc all year. DJ Kentaro - Enter El-P - I'll Sleep When You're Dead Last edited by -evil-duerr-; Dec 13, 07 at 12:33 PM. |

Yup this thread has been jokes lol. Richmond ain't all that bad lol, we got some cats here that know their shit.
I just got the new CunninLynguists album in the mail the other day, shit is really really dope!!! That is definately standing out for me. As is UGK's album from earlier this year. The Percee P mixtape I bought from him at the Stones Throw show (my case got ganked so I don't remember the name) is definately heat. The new Smif N Wessun is good too, as is Devin's album, shit the Coughee Brothaz album is tight too. |
