i gained approximatly 25 pounds after grade 12. But it was actually a GOOD thing, not a bad thing. I hated being scrawny and thin in highschool, i was always made fun of for not having curves or boobs. Maintaining your weight is pretty easy...well it is for me anyways. Just eat healthy and exercise and you'll be able to have a body you'll love. |

being the queen of crash and fad diets, all i can say is that the only thing it does for you is make you get fatter!
eat healithy, smaller portions throughout the day (better for your metabolism than eating three huge meals). i'm sure you all know what "healthily" entails by now. no extremes of anything. don't restrict "bad foods"...just watch how often you eat them and how much you eat at once. as for exercise, if you really want to tone and see effective results, alternate three days of cardio with three days of weight training. with just cardio, you can shrink your size, but you will maintain the same sort of shape. with strength training, to a certain extent, you can shape your body the way you want it to be. it's essential to be STRONG anyways, and the muscle will boost your metabolism as well. fat takes up 5 times the space as muscles do (in terms of weight), and weight training is the most effective way to turn fat into muscle, and not just lose the fat. oh yeah, and overexercising is BAD! it's the time when you're NOT working out that your muscles grow. if you exercise too much, your muscles don't have time to repair themselves. you really don't need to do anywhere more than 45 minutes of cardio/weight training if you do it 6 days a week (alternating cardio and weight training). |

I gained 30 lbs over the summer. :|
I lost 15 of it again. :) I'm still trying to tone up, and get rid of the last bit of tummy. I like being really thin, I think it suits me. Being 5'11" and "curvy" or whatever euphemism you want to use for chubby made me look like an absolute beast. yuck. |

Mystery illness= BEST DIET EVAR :soak:
But seriously, girls tend to fill out between ages 18-21, I don't know many girls that don't experience that...It's funny how the slightest gain can make us feel awkward and 14 ALL OVER AGAIN. I think eventually we get to a point where it goes away, or we learn to like it. Either way, it'a always good to stay active and <3 yourself. plur! |
