Mine split when I was about 3 years old. Actualy divorced about 4 years ago. lol my mom was pitching my dad to the lady over the counter. I can't even picture them together really so it doesn't bother me now.
My mom has never remarried and is single. My dad has a common law relationship going on about 15 years.
The step has always been a bit wierd. She isn't mean, but we have never really got along which has made things very awkward at times. Especialy for my father. We are starting to just get along but she will never be the type of person that I'll spend time with if I don't have to.
I remember when I was younger I always used to think that life would be easyer if I had both parents together. But then I realized that it would never work. We went on a trip all together once. It felt totaly strange.

I didn't know my dad, well I knew him from when I was born till I was like 4... the he disappeared. but when I got older I realised I wanted to know who he was. I asked my mom.. She told me but had no idea how to get a hold of him. so I 411 his assed. He's been apart of my life ever since.
I was a detemined 12 yearold and met him later that month. Not saying it was all fun n games tho.... there was a LOT of anger.

parents divorced when I was younger, but they stayed best friends until my father passed away a few years back. It didn't really impact me because they did what they felt they needed to be happy, but they didn't lose a friend. I think in a lot (sadly not all) of marriages after time if they don't hate eachother, they realize that they have a very dear friend, and it's possible to amicably part ways. I wish it happened more often this way, it doesn't traumatize the family as much.

I'm in foster care, and I'm moving back home on april 7th, but when I move back, my parents are splitting up. My mom is going to live at our cabin at Gabriola Island, and My dad is gonna stay in the city.
It's pretty rough and screwed up, but whatever. Shit happens every now and then

Mine split when I was 5, divorced when I was 6. My dad was engaged afterward, but that didn't end up working out, and he passed away when I was 15. My mom had a live-in boyfriend, but that ended when I was 16. She's one of those people who's just happy being single and really has no interest in relationships anymore.

How old are you if you dont mind me asking? I delt with a simular situation when I was 10 (moving back into the family) Its definently a really hard change and yeah kinda fucked up. However it is a fresh start and over time everyone grows into a new rutine and life style in hope things can only get better than before. *hugs* wish you the best.
