Psychobilly Night in Vancouver?

I don't even know if one exists, I've been talking to people with no luck.

Does anyone here know if there is a good psychobilly/rockabilly/shit even good punk for that matter night in vancouver?

Obviously I know about the Cobalt (ew.), Pub 340 (meh), and friggen Piccadilly pub (which is shut down so thats no good.)

But other than that....any recommendations?

I've been to three in Vancouver; they never cease to amaze. I usually find out about them in the Metro and those other papers handed out at skytrain stations, as well as in The Province from time to time.

Just back in October, Wendy brought out the Deadcat's...with the Slickjacks and the Sore Throats. Also not too long ago..was Bloody Betty and 7 Deadly Sins' Burlesque troupe often feature psychobilly backup..and openers...The Cobalt is the Cobalt....and it's a wonderfully skudgy place of homeyness. I love it. Next year, come to the Zombie Walk. Nifty folk..shall guide you...and also spurt blood upon you lovingly..As well as swing dancing on the Drive..we had a night....that was very Psycobilly esque not too long ago...occassionally you get the live bands now and again..

If your really desperate for a more exclusive scene that caters to the psycobilly cat's..
Swing by Bone Rattle music on Commercial, the fellow in there is always up to chat...im sure he would be more then happy to give you a boot in the right direction.
When I played in a rockabilly band back on the Coast..people just came to me..and showed me the way..
I can tell you about the scene over there if you ever want to know.
Small but kickin.

that is also good.
I would come watch..and possibly audition.


P.s. They may not be Psycobilly...but they're as good as it gets.

pats pub on hastings host a show the last saterday of every month called "GREASE AND GRIME" its the best night in vancouver, get hooked in with the people there and you will find that theres a HUGE rockabilly/ psycobilly sceen in vancouver. have fun
