I'd like to see you guys throw as many pumen partys as Scott has for us. He deserves more respect then that from you.
Shit happens sometimes...what can you do?
how are our posts bullshit about how our night was a bad night? scotty himself said he wasnt doing anything with this party, it was his retirement right? he gave the name to rosco didnt he? i dont think anyone here was pointing fingers at scotty, they just associate him with d'oh.

much respect to scotty for all the work he has done, i've been through most of the ups and downs of doh.

For what its worth, having had a great night playing at viva on friday I, like all of you was looking forward to a good time on sat at doh "having travelled from london".Scott, who has always looked after me when I am here did all he could to make sure that things ran as you would expect them to even though the responsibility this time was not down to him. Unfortunately that was not the case. I want to thank everyone that at least made the effort to go along regardless of the outcome.I always enjoy playing to the crowd here and look forwad to being able to do so again in the near future. scotty oh..u need to take back D'oh, i was doubtful about this party, but it was D'oh 5 so i still had some faith, triple a picked a horrible location, a location that nobody could find, what the fuck .....seriously.....jimboski, jen and i didn't even mind driving the 45 minutes to squamish, but we were driving around in the fucking forest for a good 3 hours, going over a million potholes, rocks, dirt, mud........it seemed like we were doing a ralley circut, and we still didn't find the party. The thing that made it worst was once we got to the more ghetto roads that weren't made of cement, we had no reception, what to do.....turn around and drive back up squamish way for another 20 minutes, or keep going....well we made it this far...fuck...lets keep going.....so we keep going and finally, we role up to a party.......27th annual.....hrmmm maybe this is it......so we go in..... it was a hick party......fucking funny......so we ask the guy gaurding the door....is this d'oh 5? the guy says.....what's d'oh??? i'm from the woods.. i don't get out much....so we leave and continue on our journey for d'oh . after another 30 minutes of driving....we pull up to this other hick party....back yard bbq. We get out...and i here....."where do u come from where do u go, where do u come from conton eye joe"!!!! hilarious.. but pissin at the same time........how could we have found 2 hick party's......and still not find d'oh 5.....so we decide to drive back out.....and we bump into a gang of people.... all looking for d'oh 5....hirshee was wit that group... confused just like the rest of us. so we decide to drive back out where our phones would work to call the info line again.....turns out the party was cancelled.........Mother fuck!! I guess we didn't have it that bad..... we saw a car who's muffler broke off from driving on the ghetto ass road heheheh........ :finger:

i guess i was lucky cus the car i was in followed another car with directions right to the spot.
when we got there it was our car and 1 other car from fundemental...these guys deserve ALL the credit for this party....they threw together a pretty fun time for what they had going...tables on the back of some pick-up and shit...it felt like a real rave actually.
im gonna guess that the 40 people or so who actually made it had a good time.

anyone find a black mini maglite?

We acually found the party!!

After driving forever and then driving forever and a bit in the forest we saw some chinese peeps turning back saying there was only a party full of hillbillies up the road so we all walked thru the mud to party with the hillbillies!

The Rockin Hillbillies told us about the rave about 5 minutes from there and then we made it

So we danced in the rain with about 80 others with a sound system that was just a little bit more powerful then my clock radio

but we made the best of things and still had an awsome time!!

It just sounded a lil selfish to me with everyone saying how bad their night went and to just think about how the ppl throwing the party feel. Thats all...maybe using the word BULLSHIT was a lil too extreme.

if fundemantal managed to continue its party, 2-300 feet passed the country party, what stopped triple a?

and why would the promoter of the party, go home? i mean yeah i dont know everything that happened that night, and no im not a promoter myself, but why not stay, let people know whats going on, and take on some responsibility?

im not trying to be condescending, since i don
t have all the info of what happened that night, im just asking some questions that i think need to be answered.
Yeah Adam, I talked to some more people and I'm leaning towards your side on this one. I wasn't aware that the promoter of the party took off and didn't come back. There seemed to be some sketchy shit going down and a lot of people got fucked over.
It's too bad. This could have been a really good show if people didn't flail.

kraig: too bad you had your hearts set on doh. the burning man show would probably have been a night you wouldn't forget for some time.

everyone else: i hope you at least did your drugs while in the car. bumpy car rides are quite enjoyable when you're high (sober driver, of course).

I've gotta agree with AGRODave on this one.

After much, much driving around with my friends and I (and calling Scotty Oh! a few times to see what he knew, but there was so little information getting back to anyone...) finally, someone updated the infoline to specify which turnoff to use (the fork in the road!), so we headed on down to Mile 18, where we joined a stream of about at least 50 cars heading for the new site.

That's when it got bad.

First, I think half the cars had to bail on the road going into the beach/camping area. Thank god I had a truck. :) (Coming out this morning was fun!)

Everyone's sitting around...the rest of the gear didn't show up until later, so I think a bunch of people left...

But when it did get going...it was great. A little sound system, one special effects light, and a bunch of people having a good time all night until it's light out.

Isn't that what it's all about? :)

And for the record, please don't blame Scotty Oh for this...as he and others have said...he had passed on the Doh name, and definately was NOT responsible for the gong show that happened last night. Scotty's one of the best people around for the scene nowadays, IMHO, and always did what he could to make sure everyone has a good time. I feel he's led the way for people like AGRODave and others who are trying to make the scene fun and something meaningful again, instead of the same bland highway-robbery pay-lots-for-nothing crapola we keep getting subjected to.

Although, I'd like to see what the rest of the guys who were putting on Doh 5 have to say about this. Make-up party, perhaps?

Oh, and nice seeing all the people I knew there last night, like AGRODave and Mark and a few new people. :)

^^ Yeah Inkster... I TOTALLY agree... that party was crazy... they had a REALLY good setup. I would have to say, one of the bes outdoor setups I have seen in a really long time. But dude, you can imagine that after having driven for 3 hours and then feeling absolutely horrible that I was late/missing my set that I was determined to find this fricken party!

im not trying to be condescending, since i don
t have all the info of what happened that night, im just asking some questions that i think need to be answered.
And so here is MY answer at long last cauz apparently a few things need to be cleared up. D'oh and Triple A had teamed up with Fundamental (me) who were doing another event (Tangent) last night in Squamish anyway. After the propety owner showed up and had asked us to leave (DO NOT START with me on THAT one!!) the decision was made between Rosco and I to move at least one stage with my equipment down to the space that we were originally going to use - mile marker 18. Things at this point were obviously quite hectic, and trying to come up with an alternative plan at the last second does not provide for very rock solid planning. That was my voice you could barely hear on the infoline. I apologize to anyone who got lost because of it, but I had only been to the space once before myself and did not know the exact names of the roads... not to mention I didn't bother coming up with good directions prior to the event because we were no longer planning on using the space. We obviously had to use a cell phone to change the line (from the middle of nowhere) and I was more concerned with getting up to the space and setting up (imagine that) then calling back to make sure my voice sounded pretty.

A short period of time after leaving the message on the infoline, we lost Rosco (who happened to have a lot of my gear!) and never saw him again for the rest of the night... for that matter I still haven't even talked to him again so I have no clue what even happened to him. So we were left with a single speaker and my monitor and nothing to set the turntables up on... so we used a fuckin tailgate and my car and made sure a fuckin party happened anyway - D'oh or no D'oh.

So for whoever was able to find it, the shit still went off even in the rain and I hope that everybody there had an excellent time. Thanks Soma, Mr. Sinister, Dan, Hirshee for all spinning - sorry to the other guys that weren't able to, thanks Jeff for the use of your vehicle, thanks to the owner of the tailgate and a most gigantic thanks to the four peeps who helped bring our gear back.. would have been screwed without you.

Honestly, I think, in the middle of all the chaos that occured, you pulled off a really, really fun party, in the middle of nowhere. Kudos to you, man.

aha i have to agree on that one.

i also had a thot a day or two ago about why this party was by triple A instead of D'oh
now i know....
d'oh WAS scott
and now both D'oh and Triple A are under who's owndership?
rosco's?
i will remember this forever now for sure

thanks scot for the previous parties.. even the ones that weren't so great for u but i thot were good shows (you would know which ones they are)
hope to hear u spin more later on!

on a side note...
if these hillbillies can have these fire parties or wutever it is that u guys encountered...
then it must be that they have it often...
why not encounter these guys and try to barter their land for money?
or are the guys that screwed u over... the same people
