Suggestion for Twisted Productions for Spooky and future parties --->I personally and I would think majority of people liked that fact how at IMF after sets the Main Room guys took 5-10 mins of their time after their set to come up to the very front and meet/greet fans...Thought that was very nice way to show fan appreciation and what not...

Hopefully ShyBros and Uh-Oh got tons of good feedback on this and will continue to get future Dj's to take time after sets to do that...

Hope Twisted takes note and does that too!

Thank you :)

besides the main room setup the party fuckin sucked!!! Sound in the Breaks/D&B sucked my fuckin ass.....u'd think that they would have done a better job for the out of town DJ's. Sharaz was the only reason i went to the party and the Shy Brothers were too stupid to let him play. Shitty production and sound for that party made it a shitty night!!

P.S. - Hatiras= Nice guy!

I just though someone should note the obvious.

First: 90% of the people who go to any large show stay in the main room. Maybe it seems like everyone talks about the other rooms but when it comes down to it, all the real talent plays on the main stage and that's were the audience is. So, without a doubt that is where the promoter would logically spend their money on production.

Second: Is it just me or does every room Kraig is in have severe problems. It seams strange that every time something blows up, Kraig is right there. I happen to know that in the 2nd and 3rd room there was a techie for the dedicated for the two of them. Yaa, I was there when the bass cut out, but logically speaking with that heat, it didn't suprise me in the least. but I also noticed that the bass came back soon after. end of the day, it really says something when every time something blows up Kraig happens to be there??? Interesting hey???

Third: the 2nd and 3rd room had a lot of lighting and sound. I happened to count and noticed that there were 8 of the track lights in the 2nd room. Funny enough I only counted 12 in the main room of plaza for Twisted last party??? that weird. Also, the laser in the 2nd room looks just like the laser that twisted always has in the main room. It seems to me that Shy Brothers and Oh Oh had an awesome 2nd room. As for the 3rd room. it had more sound and lighting then the BC room ever does at a twisted show.

great party. it had its flaws, but it was damned good nonetheless.

i'm proud so say i didnt spend the whole time in the breaks room like i usually do. i went out, saw darudes set, then wandered around b4 heading back there.

nice seeing some faces from fnk. to all the ppl i met, i probably dont remember ur name, but it was nice to meet ya anyway!

having been around awhile and before people start ripping each others throats out about shows...here are some facts.

The main stage design for IMF was the most innovative and original design I have seen Masterplan put together in a long time (btw I havent worked there for over 2 months now, fyi). Gary and Ryan really let their creative juices flow and did awesome. I havent seen something that impressive since an old Sweet show that had a gigantic stage.

On top of that this show had 50 moving head fixtures in the main room alone, the majority of rave type events and concerts usually have 10 or so maybe twenty tops for the whole show. Not to mention the extra lasers.

The fx in the 2nd room were amazing compared to what is usually seen in a breaks/dnb room. that green laser you all saw is the same one used in the main room @ plaza for the majority of shows that take place there.

The bass amp did blow in area 2...but it was reset.

Area 3 the only reason the right side speakers cut was because of the RCAs Hatiras brought himself with his own CDJ - as soon as I found a tech and got another RCA he was ready to go. (sorry oliver & hirsh but fumbling in the back with speakon doesnt do a whole lot :))
There is no point having any lighting under florescents like that so no money wasted there but definately a decent system.

Area 4 - well that was ass. nuff said.

I always notice a lot of you "dj's/scenesters" complaining about the lack of this or the lack of that...when a lot of you really have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to sound/lighting or visuals. Going to "raves/parties" or buying records does not make you an expert....nor does being a promoter.

Going to school for professional audio and lighting and working in the industry for some time certainly does though.

I'm not saying IMF didnt have its problems (all shows do) but this was definately the show of the year as far as production value goes that vancouver has seen in a long time.

i'm going to have to agree with you. A lot of people complain if something isn't THEIR way OR if it isn't done the way they thought it would be. I'm certainly NOT an expert for i have been out of the scene for quite some time before Twisted 2K3. However, like akeel said, every party has it's up's and down's. Don't go bashing other people's parties when you haven't thrown one yourself. If your so great then why don't you throw a party that is going to be better than IMF? I hardly doubt you can do that. IMF was definitly a party that would be remembered by a lot of party goer's.

So before you go and bash shy brothers and uh-oh productions anymore take some time to APPRECIATE the effort that they put on for IMF. This show was by far the best show of the year. Unless Twisted puts together something special at Spooky 8 or at the New Year Eve's party...IMF was definitly something for all of us remember. Good luck to Azim and company because I do hope that spooky 8 does not disappoint all of us. I just can't wait to see what they do to the new venue that they have in store for us.

I can appreciate where you're coming from, but there's also the idea of the people providing a good/service being accountable to their paying customers. And that includes ALL of them. Just because the majority of people who got to massives want trance does not mean that the rest should have to deal with ass. It is apparent that the promoters were either not ready or not willing to throw a proper party at the Colliseum. I agree that the main stage was unbelievable, props to Masterplan for that, and the second stage was decent, but to see such a poor production across the building made it pretty difficult for me to leave the party with a good impression. To book a bunch of amazing locals and put them where they did makes it seem like the promoters just wanted to have their names on the flyer to draw that extra number of people. Now I don't know anyone who was involved in IMF, so it's quite possible that there is a very good reason that this happened. Perhaps someone could enlighten me.

i understand the fact that area 4 was bunk...and yes i was disappointed about that part too. But haven't you noticed a lot of people complaining over the LITTLEST things. I don't mean to be a bitch but some people just need to learn to appreciate the fact that Shy brothers and uh-oh were working under a budget. The fact of the matter is this. Could some parts of the party been improved? definitly. They thought the main room needed to be the most appealing...so be it. I was disappointed too but i can't complain because i had an awesome time overall. In general i understand where your coming from but the fact that people whine over little things just makes them sound pathetic!

I played at Area 3, and aside from the monitors being setup for someone that was about 5'1, the setup was awesome and the sound was great. It's just a shame that me and Jesse had to play with the lights on =P

I agree with you. I guess I'm just big on the overall impression, and the fact that I'm all about the breaks/DnB would tend to make me pay a lot more attention to those stages. If they had taken 1/100th (obviously an exaggeration) of the budget away from the main room and put it into the fourth, people would more than likely have still been just as blown away with the main stage, while also pleased with all of the others.
