seriously, i'm glad i got to see Andy a couple of times on a decent, non-pussyclat sound before last night. That wall of midrange did not give an accurate representation of his abilities.

and POTD... sheesh. some great tunes, but was i the only one noticing the amateur-level mixing?? they had more train wrecks than CN Rail..... the only positive thing to come out of that set for me was a new-found respect for AK1200, as he seemed to be the only one with his shit together on the decks.

and, as usual, i was unimpressed with the variety of musical styles the DJs were putting forth (ed- except for Ill-esha). POTD bored me to tears, Andy C did little to remedy the situation. But it seems that all the dnb crowds want these days is hour after hour of in-your-face aggression, so what's a DJ to do.

all in all, on a scale of one to MEH, i give this show a resounding MEH. But it was a drunken good time, so like whatevah.

i missed andy c! i got kicked out for mouthing off a bartender...appearently. i was thrown out about 3am. i was outside with a bunch of other pees who got thrown out.

besides that... i cant be too upset... i did get some wicked paparazi style shots of potd getting out of their black suv. good shit! i'll post some pics as soon as i get em developed.

it was good seeing everybody last night...well most people...except for one person.

it's always nice seeing one of my so-called "toronto jungle dikes" across the country...and it's nicer when she gets me drinks the whole night.

such a good night though. haven't had that much fun in a while. it was long overdue.

I was there in full force for the whole thing psyched to see Andy C and my Dara.

Wood said it better than anyone. I don't know alot about d&b but really Andy C, come on buddy, I could have sworn every second track you dropped had the same womp womp womp bassline. And people complain that Tiesto is predictable.
I noticed the sound drop around 2am but I initailly thought it might be due to db bylaws after a certain hour.....
The Mc's were too much, I wish I could have just heard the tunes for even a little part of the night.....but then again I cannot mc and I would never have the balls to stand up and giver on the mic so I must give props to Neutrixx and GQ.

Ill-esha had the best set of the night (besides Akeel and E-man upstairs IMO)
Girl you played innovative stuff and actually had a good flow going and switched it up alot. Plus your mixing was tight.

POTD crew was decent. I love Dara to death, and actually found myself gaining huge respect for AK1200 who played the best set I have heard from him ever.

Andy C to his cred had to play on a not so good sound system but rocked it as best he could and had more energy than four candy kids on e.

i had a blast. got in at around 12:20 and except for a few smoking breaks i was dancing the whole time. i thought dieselboy was #1 last night, and ak as usual was awesome. i found andy c's stuff to be sorta hit and miss, but what do i know.

got to talk to ak and dieselboy for a bit, took some pics and all that.

all in all a good night was had.

One of the reasons I never end up going to drumnbass shows any more is that I don't know whether I'm supposed to have had fun or not. I was enjoying the music last night, although I had to leave somewhat early.. but the guy who knows the most about DnB says it was bunk.. maybe I'm missing something? (seriously, this isn't just meant to be taken ironically..)

Also, there just aren't a lot of drumnbass shows anymore.

I had a good time and I know at least 250 other people that had an amazing time. Hopefully shows are still supposed to be about people having fun, or at least I thought it was supposed to be?

Was really into the 4 deck set-up for POTD, added a whole other element and alot more spontaneity and non-stop mixing. Alot more interesting then just watching 1 guys mix two peices of vinyl together

I liked the 4 decks as well.

It's definetly about having fun, but when someone who's opinion I respect as much as Wood's is so uniformly negative, it makes me wonder what I'm missing.

I'm glad I didn't go. MCs annoy the fuck out of me and I'm overly critical. Well, at least until I get really drunk, then I either dance, passout, or get really pissed off about how I'm not drunk enough or the music sucks.

just expressing my personal feelings about the show, guys... not trying to rain on anyones parade. dnb in general has been losing my interest lately anyways, i'm far from being the most in-the-know dnb head (dabbler or psidream would probably have that honor). i had hopes that maybe this show would revive my interest a little, but not so. little things like poor mixing & bad sound get on my nerves, but overall the event production was great, so it was really just on a musical level that i was disappointed....

and i did have fun... the crowd was great, ill-esha & akeel both played dope sets, carlos getting tossed out on his ass was especially entertaining 8)

i do stand by what i said about Sonar's sound system though. it can't handle a dnb show like that.

Had an absolute blast last night!!! It was like a reunoin with too many to mention kids there. Been so long since ive had my head in dnb and andy c definently beat the last time i saw grooverider WOW. Awsome crowd of ppl and I still cant belive how so much energy lasted till 4am and the place was still pretty packed.
