Another awsome gong show at APEX!
First off huge thanks yous to my helpers at the Ree-Fresh stage! Also huge props to all the DJ's I heard great things about ALL of you. Especialy Male Model Machine, Timeline, and Ollie "this is miami" OMG you boys were unbelievable. Too bad about the stage situation with Vision 1 and Soudfunction. Unfortently my stage was put in the wrong place, Sound funktion had to move back, and Vision 1 had to squeez in becase they had a horible issue with power and had to move in last minute. WTF having 3 stages facing each other barly 20 feet apart. All well theres always next year for improvments. On a better note I give huge props to the stage with the drummer chick way up high and center. Crazy! Slow DJ's, I had a great time hanging out at your stage. Had some wiked beats all night. Rhiannon, so nice to finaly meet you. It's been 10 years since I met another Rhiannon <3 Ricco my new best friend, highlight of the party was walking around with the mega phone. Next year we wont have to share :p Myles, glad you liked my mom. That was awsome lol. PS: Everyeone please take note. Try not to pee on the cords. One guy nearly "destroyed the rave" doing that last night and the sound went out. Last edited by Ree Fresh; Aug 06, 06 at 11:33 PM. |

One more apex down the hatch. had a gret time just bombing around to all the stages. had a good time spinning, seemed like lots of people were feeling it.
some guy bangs into my friend when were walking and this guy starts swearing and he stares us down pretty good. so i say "woah easy there man" and next thing you know he runs right up behind me and starts asking "you fuckin say something huh tough guy" and i tell him "man i was just saying fucking chill out" then he shoves me and this guy is taller and built like a football player and he is all reved up getting in my face and i say "look i dont want a problem i was just saying chill out" and he turns around and walks off and so do we. but it kinda pissed me off for a while cuz after how many years of partying i've never had that happen before. lost my cell phone too. that sucks. if anyone has it or knows of it... it is a grey RAZR. i really just want it cuz it had all my numbers in it. other than that it was a wicked party. cant really think right now so perhaps i'll have more to say later. thanks to all who were at the leftcoast stage when i was playing. thanks Justin and Rio... do it all again next year :) |

Next year I am bringing a cellphone charger to plug in at a stage... too many txts killed my phone...and thats crucial at Apex...especially with the amount of people there.
This years Apex was undoubtfully packed... more than ive seen it to date. But the stages... seemed like a low budget version of last years, too many recycled ideas with very insignificant changes added aside from the Shark Tent and some small details that some stages did (Different ways of setting up the dj booth, lighting positioning, dance floors etc.) Creativity was decent... allot of fabrics used to make the stages more vibrant with the lights. A decent amount of the stages had weak sound, but everyone still gave their 100%, I heard lots of stories about people getting ripped off for sound, but in the end bussines is bussines, first come first serve. LCU had a problem with the power... wrong adapter so the potential of their stage was brought down dramatically. Is it me or was the Raw Perspective stage the only renegade stage at Apex this year? I was however impressed with security, the full force worked from the back evacuating the place... also doing quick searches along the way. It was soo funny seeing EVERYONE drop what theyre doing to go stash their booze... fucking funny. The Vision1 stage was wicked, loud sound, small, got to the point, nicely decorated, you can harsh see the "Evolve" touch put to it. It was rockin all night. The diversity of the line up was great to see becuase I did notice this year "HOUSE" was the dominant genre. Id also like to menchion there was allot of great talent.. its about time I saw some new names, aswell as old ones. As for shoutouts... my mind is a little fuzzy from the consumed booze and the effect it has on the liver... Gia... "Hmmm..Im gonna style my hair, before we get there." *sticks head out window while driving* Cody... Jager...didnt drink much of it, must eat more next time... especially for my fast metabolism. Stef... GAT! Kat...FUCK YOU... that seriously hurt. Maggie... Great set, honestly. Wyatt... "Dude man, take the mic away from him....like fuck...seriously!" Aman... Dude! Miami is over there! Jeff Daniels... Fuck I harsh owe you, next time ill bring a cell phone charger... finding people is impossible without a phone. Shawn...thanks for having my drunk ass play on your stage... oh man I hate your american dj cd players.AHHH Dean... what can I say, the VERY DRUNK MC. |

so many people! Spent most the night telling people they can't set up tents right infront of our promo tent and can't set up tents streching straight across from the bushes to the main stage. People need to walk; geez!
The line seemed to be way better this year. I didn't wait in it but when I went to get a power cord from a friend in line; the line seemed better then last year. Need more washrooms and bigger concession. That was nuts! I can imagine how hard it is to plan an event for 10,000 people though. Good times, things seemed to run pretty smooth. Good work guys! I got a good night sleep and was one of the last groups to leave. 25 hours at APEX the a few hours at Cultus lake (first time ever being there). Over all good weekend and our promo tent was a sucess. People wern't used to seeing a promo booth; they all wanted glow sticks! "That way ravers ->" Looking forward to next year! |

After still basically no sleep, here's some thoughts:
-Vision1 stage was the best in my opinion. Great tunes and a great crowd all night. -Sir Kutz ripped it up. -Impact ripped it up. -Ollie Ple ripped it up. -Raw Perspective got the shaft on location. I think only once I found the entrance on the first try. -I actually really liked the Slow DJs stage. Every time I went by there, they were always playing some really good tunes. For those going to Shambhala, I'll see you there. For those that aren't, I've got plenty of good batteries, and a couple new memory cards for the cam, so there'll be plenty of pics from there. |

Good times..
Parked on the road in the "we don't want to go through the roadblock section". Lineup was easy, Vip= ten people in line. Can't beleive I ran into so many people I knew. Most stages were rocking it. It was hard finding the entrance stage during the night, I think I kept walking around in circles lol. More washrooms, larger concession, more neon, more more more more :) <--- Had fun |

Oi so tired! I had a great time playing again despite what seemed to be extra drama and bullshit this year. Ah well. Big thanks to everyone who was rocking out when Centurion and I played from 3:30 to 5am on Mnemonic. Seeing you guys go nuts makes it all worthwhile imo... :D
Also everyone who was asking for CDs, sorry I was teh slack and didn't bring nearly enough with me but I'll hook y'all up with a free download instead. Check the link in my sig for more details! Thanks again Canada, and can't wait for next year! :D |
