quite honestly, i've never heard of ellacoya.. and you know what?? my downloads are blazing fast getting 400k-1mb per download. Yup, im one of the best techs out there. But i really dont give two shits about any of the customers. i offered to help out, it beats waiting in line for 2 hours for a shitty tech to tell you in a nice way to fuck off. |

there ya go...
so? I'm talking of her uploads...downloading works fine. Quote:
...just waiting for her to come back online... |

obviously Shaw does coz they're blocking her from uploading...and that's not a valid question anyway. she pays for her upload so she should get the promised speed and not only 1 kb/s...end of story.

stokedfish you're a tool.
you read some shit on shaw's website and you have totally made up your mind that shaw is out to get your friend. why not wait for her to come back online and do some tests like me and marty have suggested before you start crying. |

you know, she could be capping herself for upload.
did you see what her upload cap in the p2p settings are? anyways, i gotta go to work. pm me with her phone number that the acct is under. the customer s/n located at the bottom of the modem. (start with 07) the address dont do the acct #, for security reasons. and let her know, if i find anything.. i'll give her a ring and do troubleshooting. But i highly doubt i'll find something. cheers! |

Jeff Baumgartner April 25, 2005 Shaw Communications has revealed details of its deployment of IP service control gear from Ellacoya Networks. The companies said the system enables the operator to manage access and backbone network usage, a move designed to ensure quality for all high-speed data users. Shaw is using the Ellacoya e30 IP service switch in about 50 sites that service more than 1 million high-speed subscribers combined. They did not specify how Ellacoya was being applied to Shaw, but the vendor's system is capable of prioritizing different types of traffic, whether it's for P2P apps, gaming or voice services. |

MAYBE BECAUSE EUROPEAN ISPS ARE PRETTY TRIFE IN SIZE
TRAFFIC SHAPING OR ANOTHER P2P/TORRENT TRAFFIC EASING TECHNOLOGY IS GOING TO HAPPEN ON ALL CUSTOMER-FACING NETWORKS EVENTUALLY |
