once again - if someone has this shit taped, send it to me. further to that, when i drove home this evening - they were doing the playbacks like they always do of the morning shows. clearly it wasnt that big of a deal to the radio station if they were playing it over and over. |

You just know that tomorrows show is going to be field with Carson going off about "Now we got a lot of calls saying how unfair I was to Benjamin bla bla bla... Britney song... cont bla bla bla... 50 cent track... cont bla bla bla... soja boy track... cont bla bla bla etc."
I really like that new kid Rodney the intern, hes hilarious and real. They should seriously think about firing Carson and hiring that guy... "Good morning and welcome to the Rodney and Nira- Arora Show with Amy on traffic only on the Beat 94.5!" |

I tuned in for like 2 seconds this morning around 7:20 because obviously they were going to be talking about the same shit again this morning, as they always do.
Kid was making a lame attempt to apologize to Ben, not for what he actually said, but because he "should have known that Ben would have felt uncomfortable talking about it on the air". It was basically the biggest load of bullshit. Ben did not accept the apology, saying only "okay". Kid was also going on about how what makes their show different that other morning shows is that they're "honest" and that they talk about their real lives and problems. They know that this is what their listeners want because they receive tons of emails telling them so. And to the "few people" that wrote in expressing their dissatisfaction with yesterdays broadcast, that they should know how Kid, Nira, and Amy don't hold back personal issues. Basically just brushed the whole thing off as 'not a big deal'. |

^ That is what bothers me. To the show (ie Kid, Nera, and Amy) it wasnt a big deal as they have a "pact" to hold nothing back, share their lives - all of it, but to the viewers and to Ben it was a HUGE deal.
A lot of respect was lost yesterday in regards to the whole morning show as well as the station. What they did was unenthical and rude, it was an embarrasment to Ben and the whole crew that was a part of it AND who let it happen. I am literally appauld that the station would allow something such as that to go on. There is NO WAY that noone knew it was happening. There is NO WAY noone could have pulled the plug and stopped it if ppl did know what was going on. Feelings were hurt all around. Kid Carson is a fucking whore. Ive met him a few times. And aside from trying to pick my girlfriends up he still left with two other girls. People are going to talk. Youre a freaking radio personality. You put your life on the air everyday (by choice and your "pact" might I add). You dont think people are going to have something to say? Good or bad? But what Kid did to Ben was WAY worse then Ben just rambling some drunk comment when his ego was blown. Props to Ben for keeping his cool. If I was a) Him - I would have fucking snapped b) Any where near the station (in or close) - I would have snapped and c) If I could have gotten through on the phones - I would have snapped. So disrespectful. Last edited by Pussy*Kat; Jan 23, 08 at 01:36 PM. |

The only people in the office at that time was the morning show so there was no way it could have been pulled. Not the station's fault. And there is no way the boss knew it was going to happen like this. He doesn't know every single thing that is planned on being discussed on air.

Kid Carson's generic reply to EVERY complaint e-mail:
There have been a couple people asking if it was right to discuss the issue with Ben and I on-air this morning. On the show we discuss our personal lives, we’ve been doing this for 3 years, and it has helped people to know us as real people, instead of just people who talk about the weather, and Hollywood stars. Amongst the members of the show, Kid, Nira, Amy and Ben… this is not something new. In fact, we have a rule that we don’t tell each certain things until we are ON the air… to prevent us from sounding “fake” as we try to “re-tell” the story as if we are hearing it for the first time. I honestly don’t enjoy listening to phony laughs, and radio / tv people that put on a “show” personality… I appreciate the people who are just real. So that’s what i wanted to do when I became a radio dj. Before anyone is hired on the show, it is made perfectly clear that EVERYTHING is game for the show… and if someone is uncomfortable with that, then I tell them, THIS show isn’t for them. I think it’s fair to give someone the heads-up that his or her life is going to be put in public. We have all shared very private things on the show… some of us have cried, some of us have found ourselves in spats. We make ourselves venerable every morning. That’s what being a part of this special team entails – we are human, we are real… we’re also goofy idiots sometimes… but we’re real. We have good days, and days we aren’t so hot. In the end, I think people appreciate that. In the past, Ben has been open to sharing many aspects of his life. We’ve talked about his love life... hired him a dating coach, listened to him stumble and fall as he went speed-dating several times. We’ve never surprised him with something that he didn’t know he would have to do when we interviewed him to be the butler on the show. Ben and I spoke about the lies that he was spreading about me… privately off-air… and he denied that it ever happened. It became a growing frustration that a guy I hired and trained, and learned to love like a little brother, would not only have it in his heart to lie about me to random people he met in bars around town… but to then lie to my face about it. I’ve made such an effort to have Ben become an important part of the show, and held onto him despite other issues that have come up over the last year that should’ve seen him removed from the show. Those issues, I chose not to share on the air. Yesterday Ben, was made fully aware that THIS time, our issue would be discussed on the show. He was not caught off guard, so the fact that Ben didn’t have answers for his actions was his choice. He’s a big-boy, and big-boys own up to their mess. I’m sure it will be my turn next to face the music. Ben is my boy… he is important to me, and that is why I make him a part of my life for 5 hours every morning. Life is too short to spend time with people you don’t like, and I only want to work with good people. I like good people. Us discussing our personal issues on the show, should not have shocked most of our listeners… and from the phone calls and e-mails we’ve received, it has been made clear that the listeners of our show want us to remain honest with them, they want to hear real people… with all our imperfections. Nira, Amy, Ben and I have a commitment to each other not only as co-workers, but as friends. We see the worst and best in each other… hell, we talk more to each other daily, than most married couples do in a week. Now, we don’t air our dirty laundry every day... that would be too much to handle for even the most hard-core gossip loving freak! Even I know that… but once in a while, it’s going to come out. Whether we host this show for another 6 months, or until we’re sitting here in soiled diapers talking about how Nira lost her teeth… we need to be accountable to the commitment we’ve made to each other… and be accepting to the commitment we’ve made to our listeners which is to be honest. I appreciate that you were upset at yesterday’s show… I understand why. Lastly, at no point did I threaten Ben’s VISA… I said I did NOT fire him because I knew it would mean his VISA would be rejected… 4 times Ben should have been let go from the Beat 94.5 (Ben knows this 100%) and I told management to NOT fire him, because I felt bad having him kicked out of the country. I was defending Ben, and explaining why it has been so difficult to deal with this situation when his VISA is involved. I hope this explains my position on the events of yesterday’s show, and I want you to know that above all I truly appreciate that you took the time to write in. Please write anytime. Kid Carson. FUCK. JUST ADMIT YOU WERE WRONG!!!!! I don't want to hear you try to justify it, it was WRONG, ADMIT IT. I think it's kind of ironic that he expected Ben to admit he was wrong even though he didn't remember saying what Kid accused him of saying, and yet thousands of listeners heard what Kid did and he won't apologize. LAME. |
