No. I'm also not arguing. Kid Carson looks like a prick, people here have said he's a prick, that's the end of it. I could care less what that dumb-ass station does or what Ninjerboi reads into my posts. The industry is dying anyway.

And the industry is dying? Really? I didn't realize that increased profits and listener ship meant that the industry was dying? Dozens of applications were put in for the new FM station license. Why would people hitch their finances to a dying media? This "radio is dying" thing has been around for a long time. When cassettes were introduced, the CD's, then internet radio, then satellite radio... Has it happened? No, will it happen? Maybe one day in the distant future. Radio stations might not please you, but part time workers at Tom Lee are who listen to electronic music are hardly a customer stations are concerned about. Didn't you claim at one point to be a writer? Seriously, you should be able to argue you point a bit better if that's the case. PS- what is Ninjerboi supposed to insult? |

If I was arguing, I would be doing it a bit better. You still haven't convinced me I'm in an argument, though. Keep at it, Boy.

If I call it something else, will you stop trying to get out of it/convincing yourself you are smarter then me by using semantics? So far your argument/disscusion/point making/whatever, has consisted of making a comment then the equivalent of: (A) I know you are but what am I? (B) No I'm right. Because I'm right, you can't argue, I'm right. (C) Avoiding the questions asked completely. I would really like to hear you explanation behind denying that you said anything about the on air aspect when I have quoted you as commenting on it. Or how you can decree that Radio is dying without any background info or connection to the music industry/radio industry. If you can't back up your statements there is no point of you posting. |

A) Kid Carson is a douche B) You can't say that because [essay] C) Yeah, I can. It's an opinion, and I've got all I need to form it. D) No, because Radio is awesome and blah blah blah pseudo-facts. E) I don't care what you think. I'm not going to argue my God given right to have an opinion. F) Yeah, but blah blah blah sandbox blah. Just give up. I have all the facts I need, and no amount of arguing you is ever going to result in anything. I've got my mind made up and you've bought your story from the mainstream media. It's over. Go back to your RIAA press releases. Radio is dead because it's all one long payola commercial for all the bands you are told to like, and it's been that way as long as we've been alive. Kid Carson is but a cog in that machine. Nothing you say will change that. |

"He's a sexist moron too dumb to be anything but a shock jock. People like Kid Carson are why I refuse to listen to the radio." If you had listened to him, fine and dandy. Change the station and move on. But you haven't heard him ever. Yet you say he's sexist and a shock jock in the same paragraph you admit you've never listened to him ever. Quote:

Who is getting this Payola by the way? |

And I won't, hopefully. I have all the info I need from the first 8 or so posts in this thread to know he's one to avoid at all costs. I don't listen to the radio and, from the reasons given at the beginning of this thread, people like Kid Carson are why. Saying I have no right to hate Kid Carson because I haven't personally wasted ten minutes to hear what a docuhe he is myself makes as much sense as saying I have no right to hate George Bush because he hasn't personally spat in my face.

They are both broadcast via the media. So if you had never heard of Bush you couldn't form an opinion. Same with Kid. Using your terrible Bush analogy correctly: These are clearly quoted in this thread. You are basing your opinion of Kid based on a picture (You are quite proud of the fact you've never heard him). You have made references to the fact that he's "sexist" and a "shock jock". Even though you haven't heard him, you are drawing this opinion based on what four or five people said. Therefore the analogy of having Bush spit on you isn't the same. Just as if I had said that Bush is a great president and helping the middle east based on a picture and what four people said online, you would say that I'm not informed enough to make comments on his personality or his policies. |

I suggest investing in one of those new fangled CD players or iPods. Then buy whatever you want (sites like pitchfork and popmatters are full of suggestions, or ask your friends). Even if it's Beyonce or Black Eyed Peas, at least you wouldn't have to wait until Carson's playlist got around to schilling you something around all the ads and inane chatter.
