SP always had the most killer visuals. I remember at Duckbot they had a really cool big Duck in an airplane shooting some laser pointers out of it. Simple, but cool looking and ultimately effective.

More money != better visuals. A lot of the worst most effortless visuals I've seen have been at the Plaza of Nations.

Isn't it true that when parties tend to get busted, they probably weren't going to make any more money than what they've got by that point? I know you make a lot on door sales but how much money can you make past 2 really?

^ *shrugs* how much money are we talking here? what about the couple of agroculture parties that got busted? i know there were refunds but i guess it comes down to being sure the party is going to last.... rather then getting kicked out in the middle of east hastings at 3 in the morning

I think the point of this thread is that people are paying such ludicrous amounts for thoroughly mediocre parties.

It's a bit less black and white I think.

I don't mind dropping $10 on a bad party. If it's really bad I'll feel lame for dropping 20. If it's anything more than that and it sucks, it's my own damn fault for not having a better idea what to do with my money.

If I'm paying more than 20, there better be a good reason.

its the fact that people are going to EVERY party

I honestly dont mind the ticket prices, just catch the early birds which are usually about 35-40 u snooze u loose. Plus cheaper ticket prices would result in shittier security which means that i would be shot there! ummm no thnx, keep in mind that cheaper ticket prices would mean that i would go raving more than once a month, would get bored of it easily and just stop going! i like to enjoy my life in medicore doses thnx. Totally 2 different types of party that offer different things. Im not so much a "raver" since 99,00, and a bit of 01. Since then i have only been attending the massives. For the msot part small parties usually have the better vibe, and frequently from my experiances have really awesome music. If you dont catch 1 of those nights where its like 90% nammers showing up at the door raping the place you often just have a place where everyone is out to dance and have fun. Massives on the other hand do offer you the chance to see some of the top djs in the world, more budget put into the setup etc... although that does not mean it will be a nicer one. I can enjoy myself at either. But most importantly as long as im having a good time its all good.

I've paid in the ballpark of 20-25 bux (tops; sometimes no more than 10) to see, in my opinion, the best DJs in the world at Sonar and other Vivid events. Worth every penny.

Of course, there's the booze factor that helps bring the cost down...
