PS
High budget =/= good visuals and good visuals =/= expensive Get a video camera, projector and a computer with Milkdrop running off the linein and you got all the trippy visuals you need. Hell screw the computer even. Video feedback alone can totally do the trick :) |

I mean if I'm gonna shell out 30+ for a tickets.. there better be some good fucking talent there or some kick ass visuals/sound. All I've seen in the past years is the price go up and the quality go down. I'm sorry.. but who the fuck pays 40 bucks to see ALL locals? there's VERY few companies out there that actually put out what you pay for. |

I don't support them by not going to their parties simple as that...If the promoters of these parties want me there that bad they will g-list me otherwise I ain't paying anymore then 20 dollars to have a good time...Fuck that shit...All of a sudden it has gotten so pricey to have fun bullshit...I ain't going to them damn pricey parties unless there is lots of Speed Garage( my fave) Jungle, DnB, and Breaks...

Goal: To get permit from the city.
You need to have a full criminal record check to recieve a permit. You need city Cops at your event aswell as the firemarshall til the doors close. To get Cops you need a insurance. To get insurance you need to have a bussines liscence and a copy of the approval form from your security company...to get security you need to have a date booked at the venue, to book a date you need a deposit. (Note: this is a higly condensed summary with small parts left out here and there) Imagine all the money spent for all of that.... AND THEN once you get that done 6 weeks BEFORE the party date, THEN you can promote and OFFICIALLY sell tickets. now think of the costs....honestly....arent you surprised that ticket prices are high, i dont think so. |

but what is so different from last year even last year I saw a lot more tickets at the 30 - 35 dollar range this year ive seen so many 50 dollar range. Mainly Solid corp parties I guess they were right when they said that the prices they were charging for NYE this year was just a taste of things to come for they have forever increased the price of tickets in this city.

whats different is the costs for the venues, cuase the venue owners dont NEED to throw raves to make money... and since raves are risky (according to almost all the insurance brokers) they will not issue insurance for cheap as well...back then it was cheap cuase the scene wasnt stereotyped for drugs as much. Cops charge more cuase the dont NEED to work overtime hours (unless its a designated nightshift)....in the end its still expensive.
