Saw the videos a while back and there's no denying the energy in that building!
The haters will call them cheesy, or wannabe rock stars, sellouts, etc but anyone who frequents doa knows that this topic has been discussed to death!! Many of you have probably heard of London Electricity. Unfortunatly, they've split up now because they couldn't take their live gig to the "next level", which is sad. This is why I think we should embrace the whole Pendulum live act; it's good for the scene as a whole! PS: Those of you interested in the live stuff, check out this guy: http://youtube.com/watch?v=b98BJ36K1wo . His name is KJ Sawka and he's fucking incredible, and from Seattle! Someone needs to bring him to vancouver. |

hehe ive been to fabric, and from the looks of it, it might been more packed than the dj mag top 100 awards.
but Guaranteed....and I mean GUARANTEED if Pendulum did a live show out here for THEIR first time opposed to Fabric in London... guaranteed 99% of the attendees woulda been blown away. Not to add rocking out to the tunes that they heard countless dj's play live and on their mix cds...regardless the cheese factor. As much as it sounds cheesy played live, you probably got a kick out of hearing the LIVE PA version of it...its as good as it gets, its talent to have such a group of people orchestrated and playing flawlessly together. Ive heard worse live acts. Pendulum has great tunes, aswell as some pretty cheesy ones, but when they played live in Van... there was nothing but "omfg best night ever" reviews on fnk. In the end facts state more than opinions. So the past 10 min of me reading, was a hella waste of time. Kinda shows that fighting in circles on the internet makes you look like a bunch of children, just enjoy the music for once... theres nothing that you can physically do to change anything, if you dont like cheese then go listen to whatever you prefer...simple. Its shit like this that makes the scene so bitter and jaded. |

Doesn't mean it's not cheesy :). I love how anyone who thinks their live act isn't the greatest thing to hit dnb and that its a cheese-fest is labeled a "hater." Pendulum have an incredible amount of talent and ability - just what they produce isn't something I particularly like (on the most part - still *love* Still Grey). No question if they brought that act to town it would go off. Just like a britney spears show :D |

If a DJ played a Pendulum track at a show, I'd go for a smoke. If Pendulum came to BC, I'd hit it up fo sho. It's always a little different when you hear the people who actually made the track rinse it out, because they know exactly what to do with it. It'd be a great, high-energy show for sure despite the cheese. (Ps, I'm a jalapeno havarti fan myself)

/cosigned. 90's pop-rock was completely tolerable, and any solid audiophile sees the brilliance (and MASSIVE cultural shift) in the oddity that was the 80s. |
