I agree with Global..."MSN" or "type" speak is so common these days...You guys should try and read MC Rippel's posts sometime on Tribe.net or Shambhala.com... I usually need a translator to understand him pretty much on forums, but I try and stay open-minded and understand his MC slang and not get on his case for it....Although many do razz him.

In the end, I get the gist of what he and others who "type speak" are saying.....If your English is so good, why not teach it professionally Ninja, instead of writing things that probably do not teach us very muich every day? Most of us should be brain dead and going through a "mental collapse" from too many parties anyways to even bother thinking of correcting our punctuation and spelling on this forum! :cheesy: People who always correct others just make themselves look bad, because they are just trying to make others look or feel bad by singling them out and by dissing the way they speak and/or type.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely can not stand the bad grammer being thrust upon us by the internet and text messaging. I just find it's better to laugh and smile than to actually start cutting people down.

Regardless I'd really like to talk about music today if anyone's interested. I'm thinking we should throw a free party outside somewhere (I've got a few ideas). Maybe the week before Soundwave?
We could do a Dub Step/Glitch Hop, Trance/House, and D&B/Breaks thing. 3 small stages. Free. Community. Friends? Fun?

Being lazy when it comes to punctuation is just one of the first steps. I have a cousin who I argued this point with.

If you can't write the English language with some proficiency then this can probably be tied to not reading often. Appreciation for the written word is slipping more day by day, and it really bothers me. I'm not saying you have to be 100% perfect, I'm not by any means, but it should be readable by everyone.

Using the argument that someone else is worse then you doesn't cut it. Why not just write correctly? It's not hard, and after looking at your posts which add a ton of extra words and "..........." and "//////////" it wouldn't take any less time.

Totally busted. I've always been a terrible speller. I use dictionary.com about 20 times a day.

I've tried to steer this thread in a positive direction several times. We just keep arguing about semantics. It seems like people would really rather cut each other down than be constructive.

I had something to say about music lately... I wish there were no turntables..well at least no new ones being produced....You should be able to plug-in flash/mini drives into any DJ mixer with the technology these days and control all the parameters including cue, pitch, and effects...The sound and feel of vinyl is cool/great...But it is just more STUFF we really do not NEED...We just WANT it....... I hope there are DJ mixers out there that may have these capabilities- and soon become the norm so we use less resources making and playing and distributing musics.

So often musicians get bogged down with too many features that are rarely used.

It holds true in music more then anything, just because you can make something doesn't mean that you should.

Example: I have a Paul Gilbert CD of him playing an acoustic set, and it's more impressive then most effect heavy guitar solos. Or an orchestra which has more subtle layers then could be accomplished by even the best electronic set up.

Of course, this would take all the fun out of record shopping...But i still wouldn't mind going to Boomtown and sitting down at a computer terminal to look through tracks that they only have, because of agreements placed with distributors and producers.
