I like your taste Myrasauce... I was just at La Bodega this past Friday. Two pitches of Sangria = YUM. And those damn potatoes are soooooo gooood!

I personally prefer the Guu in Gastown vs. the one on Robson too. I'll take you on a date Myra! :-p

And Gyoza King... soooo many tasty things there too.

Yeah! I really enjoy Zeffereli's.

you can also get good pasta @ cafe luxy on Davie st.

all of it is fresh (minus the tortelinni)

and for about $13 you get a huge plate of paste (yaah leftovers!), cesar salad and garlic bread. good deal!

I knowwwwwwww. I thought it was just awful that time because we had such a big party. And when you're drinking and socializing with a whole bunch of people you tend not to notice that it has been 40 minutes since you ordered a drink. Ugh.

BTW, there is a fucking awesome Iranian place on Davie just west of Burrard. Can't remember the name, but it's great! Very authentic and family-owned. The vegetarian bademjan is my fav :)

sushi or izakaya: Shiru Bay, Hapa Izakaya, Guu, Kadoya or Kitto.

italian: cin cin and I've heard good things about Italian Kitchen.

steak: morton's, no where else even compares.

nothwest: Raincity Grill, Parkside, C, Aqua Riva or The Fish House.

The Fish House is in Stanley Park.

I've never been a fan of The Naam, one of my favourite vegetarian spots downtown used to be The Sugar Refinery. Sadly it went down years ago.

well most establishments cater to vegetarians these days, unless you're eating at memphis blues :P

what sort of cuisine are you looking for? i can give some good ideas.

pho number one on denman makes a vegetarian 'pho' meaning that their broth is made from vegetables if you order the vegetarian pho off the menu and their salad rolls are delicious!

For straight up veg restaurants, i've heard both very good and very bad things abouut foundation, but i haven't tried it.

Bo Kong on main st is absolutely amazing, all veg chinese food. go with a big appetite!

on commercial you might want to check out cafe deux soleils (their breakfast is amazing!) and sweet cherebum.


on west 4th, there's also a little place called aphrodite's (right across from banyen books in the deep hippy district). All of the vegetables are grown on their farm and their food is delicious and flavorful. It's also a bakery with lots of yummy treats. Their hours are a little funny tho.

Went to La Bodega last night with the boy and had a pitcher of sangria and shared some tapas. Sangria was wonderful, but the food was just o-k.. the server recommended the calamari saying that it is one of the most popular dishes and it was a must have, yea... not so much, it was o-k, kinda rubberly, maybe im just spoiled with amazing cala. Regardless of the alright food, i will definitely go back, the place seems like a little hidden gem, i loved the atmosphere inside, sangria was yummy and it's just sooo close to home. Recommend to go, but just for sangria :)
