What a bullshit stance. I have yet to view a liberally minded person that condones the muslim oppression of women. Just because people are willing to complicit themselves in the worldwide oppression of women doesn't mean that they consider the other atrocities of the world any less real or relevant. Why do cons have such a problem about putting words in other people's mouths?

If you read my post i was never attempting to subvert the oppression of women in muslim cultures. There are just better and not-so-partisan ways of discussing these issues.

A mutual line of respect was drawn, I can respect her opinion, and she does mine it seems, although we may not agree fully.

By trying to set up a dichotomy instead of trying to see the merit in both viewpoints you only weaken your argument...all you do is prove your reactionary nature and that you lead with emotions first rather then a calculated logic.

I totally agree there are better ways of discussing the issues as presented in the video.

However your comment about how this stuff can also happen in the west was a textbook diversion (or could easily be viewed as one)...it made it seem as though you care more about the internal motives of the video rather then the issues it brings up.

I say this in support of your viewpoint, it's just that you really painted it to appear one sided, that's all.
