I just finished reading the original tale of Robin Hood. Damn books 4327 Pages and it's not a paperback. Needless to say it took awhile but gave me a few intresting insights into hollywoods interpretaion of what RObin hood was. Actually he was the total opposite a thief that robbed from the rich and also the poor. He didn't really care who he stole from. He was hated by many but the stories of his motley crew kept everyone in fear of him. Very interesting a lot of dry spots but it was a good read for an old english lad like myself.

As well, have you ever read Shogun or Tai-pan (or any of the others of James Clavell's Asian Saga - there's 4 more) - extremely well written (especially for an epic saga) and would be most ingrossing for someone interested in Asian history. |

i just read battle royale by some japanese author. awesomely dark and horribly fucked up, i was revolted at one point. its like survivor, oly its 'death survivor' and the winner doesnt get $ just to live.
sort of lord of the flys-ish i can understand why they banned it in japan. |

{First post. Hello to everybody! This should be good}
Gabriel Garcia Marquez - A hundred years of solitude Well this is the one literary work I'm reading, there's a bunch of technicals too in there but... really, that's just practical reading. |

neither here nor there by bruce bryson
its a pretty decent travel/backpacking book about a guy who travels from scandinavia to instabul. the idea of the book is boring as hell considering how many books there are out there about this kind of thing. nevertheless he somehow turns it into an interesting read. |
