it probably was Eragon. anyone know the author? i put it back on my parents bookshelves and now there is little hope of ever finding it again... i want to read the second one.

i probably only have about fifty books in my apartment, because it's small and i also own a lot of clothes and shoes (teehee). however, i've probably read more books than 98% of people my age and 75% of all people (have you noticed that most folk just don't read?) because i'm lucky enough to have a family that reads as compulsively as i do, and who have less financial/spacial restrictions on what they can buy. once a week i steal a book or two from my mom's always-growing collection.

right now i'm reading: Black Swan Green by David Mitchell, the briiiillliiannnttt author of Cloud Atlas. three chapters in and i'm loving it. i'm also reading Beauty Tips from Moose Jaw by... someone Canadian (too lazy to check).

yay books!

FUCK YES! Raymond E feist was one of my favorite childhood authors. The entire riftwar series was one of my favorites of all time!

PUG is the shit!

But when it comes to "heroic fantasy" David Gemmel owns! His stories are always tinged with real historic accounts, his heroes are always arise from the most fucked up pasts (they never turn out to be "long lost princes/ess" either) and they all have a very human quality. He prose is violent, brutal, honest and all the more captivating because of his abilitiy to raise heroism from cowardice.

If you havent already checked these out, these are my personal faves from his works:

_Knights of Dark Renown
_Waylander Series
_John Shannow Series (the best!!!!!)
