i miss seeing people ripping it up in the mainroom...back in the day almost everyone in themain room would be ripping it up....doing the running man and shit lol....or liquid or somethign....nowadays people just stand around and trip out. also miss seeing like shitloads of people that i knew.....now if i'm lucky...i catch about 15 people i know at party's...before it was like 50

sometimes I look back and "miss" the spontaneity of it. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to revisit a rave alone now. I think there are some things that I'd be better able to appreciate now as opposed to "then" (3 years ago when I went frequently) and others things that will make me glad that I stopped being fully immersed into that "lifestyle". I just know that if I were to ever revisit a rave now, there are some things I will NEVER subject myself to again.

Even though it hasn't been that long I miss the plaza like crazy. I met my boyfriend of 2 years, my best friend and most of my friends and acquaintances in that building.
And I miss kandy kids everywhere, I still wear atleast a few kandy bracelets to every party. (although if I was missing kandy that much, I could always go to a party in Seattle again, when I was down there I had never seen so much kandy in my life!) :)

it's been 5 years, and where have all the kandykids gone?! Raves 5 years ago had like, full out khandykids....and everyone dressed up a bit, whether it be a crazy hat, neon shirt, mickey gloves, reflector vest - everyone had SOMETHING, and everyone was NICE...like i'd literally meet a hundred people a party...now, i'll meet at most 10-20 :( I miss those old "terms" like, "ROLLS" hahaha, some places (like Toronto) still use the term "rollin" haha... To be straight up and honest, i miss the old drugs! E is not the same nowadays, like who woulda thot that they'd put HEROIN in E 5 years ago?! hell no! now it's a common thing...disgustingggg I miss iMix...i miss Magic Mountain....i miss SIMPLE!!!!!!!! :( Bottom line is (as Veni mentioned) - WHERE IS THE VIBE?!!! seriously mannngggg....starting FIGHTS at raves?! thats woulda been so out of place 5 years ago....*sigh*...TNA + heels + Versace at raves compared to the phat pants of the 90s....*sigh*....khandy?! wats that! like at twister, there was literally ONE khandykid (no it was not me, unfortunately i was too drunk to put on khandy that nite)....boohoo Okay, enough of being sad....i'm still happy we even HAVE a rave scene...things change, people change, but the concept will remain the same! Rave to the grave!!! :D

Awww this post makes me sad.
I miss the way raves used to feel. I miss the people too. I miss watching people do the two step and the raver flail/kick. I miss fiting into my raver pants!!! Does anyone with a small waist want them? They are in awsome condition. I can even throw in a raver chain if you will actualy wear them to a rave. :)

u know whats funny.. is how everyone goes on about how much this miss all this stuff..... sooooo why not just get back into it?... like i dont mean become a full out raver again.. cause i know most of us are a lil too old for that... but at least go to partys once in a while and actually ENJOY yourselves... talk to new people.... ect ect.... make the most out of it u can.. even though it may not be the same as it used to... at least make the best out of it .. and make other peoples experience more enjoyable by adding to the lack of vibe.... if all you are gonna do is go and be all agro and not even enjoy yourself.. dont bother going.. cause really... why bother.
its kinda fun talkin to noobies... it brings u back to the good o'l days.. :) viva la rave!

I enjoy myselfe regularly at parties but then again booze is usually involved and booze always helps one enjoy a party..
I do indeed plan to hit up Shambhala next year cause it just sounds like one helll of a time. I figure the Island has kept some of the old school vibe because it isnt as corrupt as Van is I mean watch the VIsland News then whatch Van news everything on VIsland is happy I remember the worst I saw most of the time were people whining about noise complaints near thiere heritage home. I switched it to Van city news and boom crack this crack that death kill destroy is it any wonder why the 2 scenes for being so close to eachother have grown to differ so much??

When I first was raving, I saw all kinds of weird shit, funky people, trippy visuals, the greatest and most horrible music I'd ever heard.
When I second was raving, I saw a lot of the same shit, but different other weird shit, funky people, trippy visuals, and the greatest and most horrible music I've ever heard. When I third was raving, I saw a lot of the same shit, but different other weird shit, funky people, trippy visuals, and the greatest and most horrible music I've ever heard. The first was 1998. The second was 2000/1. The third was this year. What I've seen is that all that really changes are which rituals people choose to partake in. The reasons vary, and most often when asked reasons you're usually met with "why not?". But the people are still partying, and they're still bitching about how much better it was when they started.

^^hehe.... just call me a hippy... i guess its cause i was brought up on the island?.. so no matter how hard i could try to be all jaded... i just cant... i just love partyin.and i have a crazy passion for music..that keeps me going, ask anyone that knows me..i have ppl come up to me at partys thinking im all high cause im just going off and im so happy...but im not.ive gone all night b4 just off drinking..people have to double check i havnt done drugs..lol.
i dont think it'll ever change... edit: i also think its helps that when i first started partyin i never did the drugs.. my first time doing e was a month b4 spooky 7... like 5 years after the fact i started raving... plus i dont do it every weekend.. mabie once every couple months... people need to have some self control.. obviously if you do it all the time your gonna become all sour cause u have no seritonin left to be happy!!! geesus. ebbomega..sure the island has had their share of shitty partys... but i think he was refering to the vibe and how we've somewhat managed to keep it alive..like even if the party itself isnt that great for whatever reason.. the people there are usually pretty happy and make the best out of it. while here in van.. its not common to see as much anymore. :( seriously. ill say this 1000 times over... u ppl need to go to shambhala.
