If it's not anonymous, than make it username. People should begin taking responsability for their comments and opinions. If I may so mention AntiOnline.com uses a similar ranking system and there have been issues, but nonetheless it works. Username based, IPs would be too risky. Any crack-headed script-kiddie can fire-up his [D{R}]DoS-ers just because they cannot take constructive criticism right.

no one should be able to be made invisible, based on any sorta ratings.

Threads'll lose continuity, and it'll just fuck up conversation in general. What if someone with really bad karma makes a really good point? People who have them blocked will see a slew of really strong responses but not the source.

If you wanna control trolls, then just delete them when they get too outta hand.

Karma is 'what goes around comes around'... so i mean wouldn't it make sense to see who gave you bad karma. So then it would turn around and they would get bad karma. I understand that the karma here is a little different, but I would like people to know I gave them bad karma and shit. See what they have to say about it. You never know they might acually swing back at you with a logical reason for their senseless post.
